I love your family humour. I realized that I had this with my dad. He died in 2012 at 82. I really miss that family humour. I also realized that we didn't work a farm but both of my parents grew up during the depression on farms. They passed those values and ethics on to us kids.

I'm always amused when I watch the farm channels and it never fails, the dad doesn't enter then picture until about 6 videos in. And then they turn out to be a star! As a guy about your fathers age, I completely understand!

When I seen Cooper standing on the edge of the hopper bottom I had very bad memory flashback. Several years ago, a young 20ish year old farmer from our area, was walking the top of the hopper bottom just as Cooper was. He slip and fell breaking his back. The result of the fall left him paralyzed from the waste down. His family fitted what farm machinery they could to accommodate his condition. He was never the same and his love for farming faltered and he grew to hate farming and life itself. A few years later he took his own life. Cole, Cooper and Daddy Corn Star please be safe and don't take unnecessary risks.

The first video I saw of the Cornstar gang, dad was high up on the forks of the skidsteer removing siding from the old house. The paint would probably have high lead levels but nonetheless, I jumped all over them. I do Safety and First aid on construction sites as well as a Drydock and have had to deal with falls, some of them lifechanging. In hindsight, seeing what a good group they are, I shouldn't have been so harsh. They are all key to the operation and the loss of any 1 of them would be a tragedy.I've come to respect them all for their hard work and ability to fix most mechanical issues life chucks their way.So after all that, thumbs up and I've subscribed but I'll still be watching. One last thing, the ground pin on the cords and outlets is at the bottom....look at your electrical manual seen in one of your flicks.

I farmed just south of Minneapolis, we had heavy clay soil, and, my barnyard and area around grain bins ect. was always a mess in the wet. I got tired of it, and, told my dirt guy to haul crushed limestone in and spread it, we did that until it would not take anymore, then got it levelled out good. it was better than concrete, because it would drain out. I would take an old drag to clean it up now and then, and, top dress it now and then. It solved the mud problem, looked good, and, allowed for drainage.

I've been on a Cole, the corn star for a while now and your so lucky! My dad was a alcoholic and had a hobby farm, you know, about five acres of his own and twenty five plus of others who put in hay every so often. He was a mean drunk and I was his whipping post. I fixed everything. I got in trouble for it breaking and then I could fix it. When I went to vietnam, it was a vacation. I hated farming but would of been a farmer of sorts if things were different. I plowed bad fields for potatoes, after that year we would do a crop of hey which I bailed and they were heavy square bails that I got good enough that I could throw them about sis or seven high if they weighed less than one hundred twenty five. I had seventeen inch arms at eighteen, well close as I was drafted and dad tried to talk them out of it but I quietly told the recruiter to pull rank on him cause I wanted to go. Hell it never got any worse there and I got shot twice. One near killed me but damn the luck, as I joke about it, I was as scared as anyone else. I was on a M5 as a gunner for a while but got out of that after the first good hit.ll Jeeps don't last as long as on Mash the tv show. I came home and turned twenty one a few weeks later and I could of signed up for more but my sight seeing tour was over for me. I started logging but if you were good at wrenching then they drafted you quick, and then you worked when others slept. Your dad is great and never harps on you just cause your family. I wish we could talk about grain storage as I have Ideas

Hey Cole, 15:36 Just a little 'anti-mess' observation... Turn the jug so the spout is up and the handle down, then pour. That prevents the 'glug glug glug' splashing, by letting air back into the jug smoothly. Hey, my grandpa taught me that over 55 years ago when oil came in the gallon square cans with the spout in one corner. Same thing. Cheers! Ken

You know, Cole? And Coop and Daddy Cornstar, and your mom and sister too... the setup you’ve been working with may be sketchy from some people’s POV but one of the things I really, REALLY appreciate about you all (and about this channel) is the inventiveness and plain hard work with which you keep the farm running so well. There’s nothing you won’t do or try to fix things or create new inventive ways in which to organize. Reminds me of my own daddy - who instead of just doing the work for me, would give me a hammer and some nails or even his big-@ss DeWalt whenever I wanted something fixed in my room. I love how the farm is changing and growing before all our subbie eyes. And scr*w the haters who don’t see that 🙂. Apologies for the English -and the cuss words. As a Dutchie that’s where I tend to get a bit sketchy 😱😂

You should keep you a couple butcher hogs around that bin site they'd clean that mess up for you and pay you in bacon. Pro tip on that 4840: go to the hardware store and get a 4"x1/4" pipe nipple and a coupling for the drain on the oil filter housing and you can catch it in a bucket and not all over the frame. Save the mess for changing the fuel filters lol

I have to give you credit. You give people an honest look at what farming is really like. Most of these farm channels would never show that waste corn and admit they had a problem. The dead rat I could have done without, just because they just totally creep me out. I always laughed at my grandpa when he tied twine around his ankles when he was working around grain or place rats could be. Always said he never wanted a rat up his pants legs. One day a saw a rat run up the outside of his pants and he killed it. Ever since that days, I take care.

Joe Mullins I just want to be as transparent with you guys as possible. It also keeps me more accountable to make changes I say I'm going to make. As for your Grandpa, he's a smart man! My dad had a friend where it did run up the inside of his pant leg in a corn crib. 😂
