This was beautifully done! To those who say they can't hear the theme song, it's in there, and I like how it's not a basic cover. I’m glad you enjoyed it! Shimomura has been a main influence in my style of music for almost 5 years now. Lately I’ve been listening to Yozora’s theme so much it’s definitely shown in my music xD And yes, Purpose is split into 2 separate stories (the game and the anime) that happen at the same time and are deeply intertwined with each other. The game will be released first.

Thanks! And of course I make the music myself. The DAW I use is Fl Studio, in which I use a variety of virtual instruments that I either downloaded or purchased (predominantly Metropolis Ark 1 + 2 for my pieces) and I manually play in each section with a MIDI keyboard.

Well, unfortunately for those who don’t like Final Fantasy or classical music, those are the root inspirations which my style of music derives from. Most people like it, others don’t. Though if neither of those genres suit your taste, that’s fine. As for the Purpose part, I gotta advertise 🤷🏾‍♂️ Though I‘ll make the switch more subtle in future covers so it doesn’t overtake the theme of the whole song.

​@@StephenDdunguMusic Theme? What was the theme? I made the joke, that it was like Final Fantasy and Beethoven are having an argument and completely drowned out Shadow, on purpose. It feels more like a clash of two styles because, imo, it sounds like you're trying too hard to blend the two into an ideal ratio while still making a contemporary cover of I Am All of Me. It is really hard to track the song if I don't sing along and even then I can only follow for half of the video before I get lost and then "Promise" kicks in and I hear a sudden shift in the music to something completely different. Again, imo. This is what I felt while I was listening to the music. A tug of war between Final Fantasy and Beethoven. Not the first time I've heard two styles clash by someone. It's like trying to nail a mashup but it's almost never just right since you need to adjust the pitch and tempo while copying and cutting certain parts of one to go with the other. Some do a good job though. I do like your instrument selection though. I would have loved to hear the lyrics sung by a choir, or failing that, have generic latin choir singing in line with the song's lyrics with increased volume. It's really hard to tell with your "cover".

Fair enough, what probably caused the song to be difficult to follow along to was the issue I had when I was trying to mix the instruments containing the melody of I Am All Of Me over the rest of the backing instrumentation without diminishing the instruments in the lower bands of the sound spectrum. Though with each cover I upload, I learn new things like this which I aim to improve in my future covers. For example, I know now that perhaps the ‘pocket mixing’ method would work better with covers like this so the melody line can be more pronounced without drowning out anything else in the mix, thus making it even easier to follow along. As for “Purpose”, for the sake of advertisement, I will continue to include the segment in for my future videos, though it’ll be more subtle so it doesn’t interrupt the main song so much (which is what I meant by “theme”).
