Here's a tale from my theatre days; taught to me by an instructor of theatre arts. The reason why we refer MacBeth as "the Scottish Play" is because something always break whenever an aloof talent said the name. The point was proven when a young actress said the name three times, only to do a high kick that dislodged her shoe, causing it to careen into a spotlight called a Source 9 or an "Eleko". Somehow the spotlight became dislodged from the 3rd pipe it was moored to and came crashing down from over 20ft up... down onto the stage, destroying both its chassis and its inner components. Everyone's fine, but the administrators are not happy about having to replace the entire lighting instrument. Remember that theatre arts as an art is an expensive one to colleges. Imagine that this event happened in... HIGH SCHOOL! Muahahahaha!

26:40 Fun fact, apparently the ‘break a leg’ quote seems to have originated in theater, specifically in regards to “hoping (you) end up in the cast.” Allegedly. Heard this maybe last week and haven’t found the motivation to check it, but it sounds legit.

Fun fact: The Iliad was called that because the city we call Troy was called Ilios (that may be misspelt sorry). If it were written today, it would be called Troy story, and would probably have Helen of Sparta sing "You got a friend in me" with a very different meaning.

In many countries, women were often better educated than men because they had more time. Taking care of children and taking care of the house. Women read a lot and could speak two languages. The 14th century? In what country was there such a small percentage of people who knew the language? Some backward country. After all, there were plenty of books that people read. In the Middle Ages there were plenty of books on how to raise a child. It's one of the biggest myths that people were less educated in the Middle Ages. It seems to me that they were better educated than today's people. Where you have so many opportunities to learn today compared to the old days.

fun fact they actually censored some stuff on the bible when they translated it but pre king james english bible actually had a uncensored version which actually states as gov as bad ones lol or nobles or something of the sort

People looking back at the few pre KJ bibles we can find are finding lots of inconsistencies. For instance I remember seeing (I didn't do research so big pinch of salt needed) someone talking about how Satan was not an entity in pre kj, which they theorized was to create a more literal "enemy" or to simplify the idea for the peasantry it was being made for.
