The steatite piece is a ear pin. We find them made of bone or antler. I've got one made of antler that has the same rings incised on it. In 58 years I've only found four so that tells you how rare they are. Sweet quartz point too.👍♋

Thank You, yeah that seems to be the consensus of most people who have offered an opinion although I haven’t been able to find an image of one that looks like this, one person said it was a transitional piece that was meant to be snapped off in sections for beads but I didn’t feel like it was transitional, seems complete to me, I sure would like to see that antler piece you found, my brother use to make little carvings from antlers using a dremel kit, very intricate pieces like Wizards and such but it’s really cool that the natives were able to create these things with such primitive technology, Truly Amazing People, I Really Appreciate You Watching and Commenting, GL&HH!!👊🏹

@@thegeorgiacreekwalker491 Here in S. Ohio the ones I've seen are made like golf tees and some are tapered just like yours. I've seen pictures of them with burials and they are at the level of their ears. My friend lives in S. Tennessee and has a couple made of steatite. I've seen ones made of banned slate and quartz in other collections. I'm positive yours is a complete finished piece.👍♋

The unknown ornamental artifact that was found is in transition. They were in process of making beads ( could be snapped off one by one). I've seen it once before in a WINDUST phase, set of artifacts found in Eastern Washington WINDUST about 8000 yag.

That is interesting Holly, I just did some googling before I replied and I did see some similar windust beads that were notched like this piece, not snapped off but an intact notched out piece like mine with a hole in the top, if it was in transition I wonder if it was meant stone stay intact like my piece but with a hole drilled through the top and I also seen a piece I thought was exactly like mine until I looked closer, it’s made from soapstone and it’s called a three tier multiface figure, it’s notched like mine but it has little faces carved in it like a totem, pretty neat, I don’t feel like this piece was meant to be snapped off for beads but maybe you’re right but you’re definitely onto something, those notched beads and that three tier piece are the closest things I’ve seen to this particular piece yet, I need to search some windust videos as well, I truly appreciate the info, thanks so much for watching and commenting as well, Have A Blessed Week!!!

Persistence will always pay off when artifact hunting. The proof was when you found that sweet ornamental piece. With all that pottery coming from that small feeder, there are certainly small camps along it. Jump up outta that feeder and start walking the top edges where you find the most concentration of shards in the stream. Check them banks hard. You start seeing pieces. That's where I would focus the hardest. Take care, good luck, and I hope you score something even better the next go at it.

@@RESURRECTINGRELICS Thank you, I’ve had a lot of help from people on Facebook artifact sites helping me identify artifacts but I’ve giving social media a rest for awhile but maybe when I get back on someone can identify it for me, killer double sided axe btw, I watched about half your video earlier and had to stop to cook for my mom but I’m gonna watch the rest in a few, the amount of points you consistently find is crazy, I was hoping to have a plentiful year on the lake but unfortunately shit happens but maybe for a reason, appreciate you Buddy, GL&HH!!

@@RESURRECTINGRELICS I’m a member of artifact addiction, Georgia artifacts and arrowheads I think it’s called? And there’s another I recently joined I don’t remember the name of, I’ve seen both Ptowm Rockhound and The Ditchwalker post there, the last thing I posted was there was the drilled steatite piece and I mentioned how you told me you thought it may have been a fire starting multi tool and how that made the most since to me, well I said someone suggested that, a lot of people thought it was a tie on net weight but I’ve never seen another one like it, but yeah those are the three native artifacts sites but I’m also in bottle hunting clubs and other sites, New Age Goonies as well but I hardly post in any of them, very seldom!!!

Not that I know so much about Indian artifacts but that sure reminds me of a rattlesnake, rattle effigy, ornament or earring. Just my thoughts. Enjoyed watching your video. Good luck.

Thanks Heather, actually my niece dropped me off there yesterday and when I seen how flooded the main creek was I almost waved her back but I decided to stay and check out that little feeder creek, I’m so glad I did, it was a rough walk home, 3 miles uphill but it was worth it, Appreciate You Watching and Commenting 🧡

The pottery is probably from a village site nearby. They broke some pots also. They were like you and I and dropped the pots also.

Yeah I’m almost certain that was a village site, I’ve walked every creek around here and there isn’t any ceramic sherds or debutauge of any kind really but that one little feeder creek is absolutely loaded with pottery sherds, there appears to be a mound that runs parallel with the little creek, I bet it is and I hope it doesn’t get destroyed by development one day, been awhile since I’ve been back there, I need to go back and see what else is washed up, thanks for watching and commenting!!!
