Do a 1920’s movie night….flapper dresses for the beautiful ladies in your family and spats and pinstripes for the guys! Candy concession, hotdogs and popcorn. I just did this for my mother’s birthday. Family and friends loved it! Screen Bonnie and Clyde! Whatever you do will be appreciated I’m sure.

Cole! That’s the Ancestral Hallway! Line the walls with photos of your great great great grandpa and all the family as well as the house in various stages (original, construction phases, completed in 2026?) Line upper part of the bump out with library shelves and add a rolling ladder. Under that have a hidden enclosed reading nook.

You should have a little kitchen area in that wide hall you were talking about. Have a microwave so you can do popcorn, a fridge for cold drinks, and refrigerated snacks like nacho cheese. A cabinet to keep dry snacks in and a sink to help with any cleanup. It would also be a great storm shelter so some extra bedding might be good.

Guys if you’re using a table saw don’t cut a piece of wood like Cole did. If the length of the wood against the fence is longer or the same as the opposite measurement then you’re good. If not use a table saw sled. Easily made. The chance of kickback is really high the way they’re using it and mince meat for fingers is a real outcome!! Stay safe guys 😊

You guys are SOOO lucky we haven't had a snowy winter so-far. That would really have thrown a wrench in things. Minus 12º coming up in four days by us just across the river, but back up into the 20's next week. They are building a bridge nearby, and poured recently. They had hot water tubes in the concrete itself, and insulated blankets. It was all left in place at least a week.

Have you thought about, later pouring a concrete ceiling at 8 foot in part of that large room to make a safe storm cellar? It looks like that would make a good place for one.
