I am building a Swedish Viking house with reed roof

I am building an offgrid bushcraft tiny house with a reed roof. I build with old construction techniques and without modern tools. The material is collected from what I found in nature. The design looks like a Swedish Viking house

This is such a clever shelter build and the fact that the tools used were a hand made axe and sharp rocks is very impressive. The willow and other wood used is cleverly cut and dried grass makes a great thatch! This is a work of art!!! 👌

Yes, the hand made tools are impressive… but that stone ax is not very sharp…. He would have had a much easier time if he had tinned out the edge a bit more to make it a lot sharper…. I taught a bunch of kids how to make "ancient" hand made hand held stone axes and even how to make knives out of flint… you want to see a sharp blade, just use flint! I can make a blade as sharp or if not more sharp than a surgeon's scalpel! It’s hard to do that with stone though… I love making tools like that and teaching others how to do it as well… our scouts have to do a survival weekend where they build their own shelters and have to sleep in them Overnight… during that weekend I thought the. How to make tools as well as an I ground stone lined oven… with which we cooked our dinner in… I brought a couple of whole chickens and we stuffed them with pine nuts and black berries that we picked and then Wrapped them up straw that I had the kids cut from the field that hadn’t been mowed in ages…. Put those chicken down in the ground and then Covered them With the dirt… several hours later we had some awesome chicken!

How long did this actually take you to build? Just curious as you have worn the same clothes the entire video and I know this wasn't done in a day…. I’m impressed with your stone tools… do you ever use flint? You'd get a much sharper edge / blade with flint….
