This was the first time that Hellpriest legit scared me! Doug Bradley is iconic but he never frightened me even as a kid. Jamie Clayton's performance was incredible and a sequel is much needed!

I think people are really harsh on Riley. Like she open the box, but for her was only a puzzle, his brother came to rescue her from an overdosed and called also by a nightmare from the priest, and died, she didn't do anything. The lawyer cut herself, her friend was stab by the douche, and everything happen becase she was being manipulated by an horrible boyfriend who want her to do the dirty work he wasnt able to do because he was a coward, also I think Riley is a good final girl, using the smarts to take one soul from the cenobites and also trying to get a second one from them so she wouldn't sacrifice any of her friends no more. Riley was badass in the 3th act and also outsmart the priest and her final choise was the smartest thing even if that come with a life of regret she is willing to take it and change her own life. Thanks they didn't kill Colin and was very upset with the unfair death of Nora.

The director has said that he'd love to do one or more sequels, and with the surprise success of this and another little Hulu original known as PREY, I'm thinking that they as a streaming service would also be open to revisiting this universe. Loved the cenobite and new Pinhead designs.

Crossing my fingers for a sequel! Was super sad 😢 about the Chatterer :/:( I felt sorry for Riley. She did show sorrow and remorse for what she did to her friends and brother. Sex and drug addiction causes so much chaos to the people closest to an addict, which is very real. If you do rewatch, look for the religious aspects of Hellraiser. Example, stigmata (being cut by box), benediction (Pinhead’s hand 🤚 position when releasing the chains), Serena being fed a pearl like the body of Christ, Nora saying the Our Father and begging for salvation, Asphyx cenobite’s hands tied in a prayer 🙏, the Mother cenobite, Gasp cenobite was very nun-like, the Transfiguration of Roland, Pinheads priest collar with Leviathan’s symbol shaped like a cross and angel wings, etc.

Very, very well observed! No, I see that all now you mention it! Oh we are defo getting a sequel! It’s been way more successful than they would have expected and really the budget is mostly practical isn’t it, so it’s not gonna be some 200 million movie. I still would prefer it only on Hulu as the second it hits big screen the studios get way too involved.

All victims are reassembled for repeated torture. So Chatterer isn't gone, he's only been selected as a soul to be claimed to further the progression of the configurations. Being brought to Hell is mandatory at that point, what happens to you once you arrive is discretionary.

It's nice to hear someone mention Nightbreed. Such an underrated movie, that one. (BTW, I've recently read confirmation of two things I'd suspected all along. Yes, the Nightbreed and the Cenobites do inhabit the same universe. No, they don't get along particularly well with each other.)

Ben Lovett did a wonderful job with the musical score. It brings both the familiar and yet, new feel to it. Loved that they brought back themes/cues from the first two films. I'm also a sucker for those... dissonant electronics and industrial sounds as well. Makes them sound trailer-like if that makes sense. In case you didn't know, Ben Lovett is best known for composing the film The Ritual. Underrated film.

@@GavinRamonShow The Ritual is a 2017 British horror film that follows four friends who take a hiking trip into a Swedish forest and encounter an ancient evil. The film is also directed by David Bruckner as well. Him and Ben Lovett were long time friends and worked together often if I recalled right. The Ritual is quite the underrated film in my opinion.

I was the same but the movie was brilliant in my eyes. Hellraiser has been in some real dark days but this was a huge step in the right direction.

I was super pleased with this movie. Hellraiser is one of my favorite franchises but so many of the movies weren't originally meant to be Hellraiser scripts. They were other horror stories with a box and cenobites added. I personally still took away something fun from most of them up until Hellworld (my personal least favorite) but often it was just some of the lines they gave pinhead, or a specific actor or scene, little things like that. The new movie actually took some things in a different direction than I expected but I'm intrigued. Honestly I want more. I would love a sequel with more information about the new lore. Also loved the nods they did give to the original movies.

@@GavinRamonShow Yeah it needs a good trilogy, done right of course. I was also bummed to see Chatterer go and was like 'why the hell did they 'off' one of the chief cenobites? They coulda killed one of the other insignificant ones. Maybe they are planning on creating another Chatterer in the next film that we get to witness the creation of which would be epic'. It also needed a lot more brutal gore which a lot of people have mentioned. Hellraiser needs to be more gory or at least on part with Saw films. I feel more sequels are coming as this film was well received for the most part. One can hope anyway.

I absolutely loved this movie! I thought the first 3 Hellraisers were iconic horror flicks. IMO, this one is every bit as worthy. Riley was an interesting character to me because she’s a very realistic drug addict that just has their life completely jacked up. But that’s what addiction does. Still she eventually wises up a small bit at the end. Jamie Clayton as the hell priest had huge shoes to fill and a lot of potential hate if she failed. But she crushed it! Both Clive Barker and Doug Bradley gave her their blessings. I’m really hoping for a good sequel and I’m thinking that there’s a good chance for that since this seems to be well received so far.

i loved this movie a lot of homage to the book and the original movie's but the ending kinda left me cold i was hoping that voight was gonna become a conduit or some kind of battery for leviathan but the director has stated in a interview that he just becomes a generic cenobite so we can assume if you choose power you just become a cenobite would definetly watch a sequel if it is as good as this movie

Fantastic film. The effects were so good! Nothing gets by me though, I had the story figured out early on. The only problem with being a huge movie fan is it takes a lot to catch me out, I'm sure you are the same 😅

The screaming the movie really makes you feel for the people being killed. Specially the young guy at the beginning, his scream was so convincing, you can really feel his pain. Horrible.
