I will never ever understand why or how someone could hurt a child, especially when you can literally hand over your kid to the state, and have no parental responsibility, why keep a kid around if you know you're a shitty parent!!! I wish I could take in all the abused kids and love them as my own. I am so sorry that happened to you, I'm glad you were taken out of that situation and adopted though 💜

@@UnkindledTarnishHunter some adoptive parents do adopt for wrong reasons. Biological families don matter. I’m incredibly grateful my parents made sure to expose me to the culture of Russia and Ireland, where my birth parents hail from. My parents made sure I learned Russian, I participated in Irish step dancing until I was old enough to say I no longer wanted to. These things were important; biological and ancestral roots do matter, there can be trauma when adoptees come of age and have no ties to their communities of birth. My parents are my parents. My brothers (all six of them, five of whom are my parent’s biological children, one of whom is my own biological full-blooded brother) are my brothers. I love them deeply, fully. Adoption doesn’t make you any less connected, as I said. Adopting for the right reasons, with the right intentions, making sure you are giving your kid connections to their culture of birth and their culture through their adopted family is important. I am so wholly my parents’ child. They are entirely my parents, and they honored my birth parents by making sure I knew their culture.

That made my blood BOIL seeing that… I’m sorry but the system needs to make some type of changes because that scenario needs to be a 1 time thing… That is so unfair on every fking level. & I don’t understand how that isn’t a conflict of interest to some degree. Being questioned or interrogated by your abuser? Rapist? Let alone a fking PARENT who did those things to you…. There are sooo many reasons our systems need to change. This just ticks another box on the list for me :/ I’m beyond thankful that boy got out & into a home that understood him.. It’s mortifying knowing so many in the system don’t ever get that chance🥺, specially considering what they’ve survived 💔😔

A lot of well-meaning people in this country wear their religion like a badge of honor. They claim the Christian beliefs without actually acting on them. I'm not a Christian and have no religion, yet I know the Christian beliefs since I was raised this way. The idea is to call out those who claim to be Christian without acting against the religion itself. A lot of us who aren't Christians are more Christian-like than those who claim this label. On the other hand, I don't agree with the idea of judging a group of people collectively simply because of their religion as you have. You have evidently had some horrible experiences with those who claimed to be Christians. But this shouldn't translate to "all" people of this faith are horrible. This is similar to saying "all Hispanic men are protective of their mothers" or "all men ask for directions" or "all teenagers hate their parents," etc. Each individual, regardless of what religion he or she follows, has the power of choice. You've evidently run into people who chose a terrible path.@@user-bz7qg5xw6h

Also, having other kids to be with can help keep his mind young and away from that memory more than if he was an only child. Glad he wasn’t put in a foster home, that causes so much more pain. God I feel so bad for him, he has to live with this memory everyday for the rest of his life, missing his family, knowing his dad did it with the visual memory of him doing it, I really pray therapy helps him and this family helps him not to let this disrupt his future. That dad has got mental issues, that’s apparent. Even tried to be his own lawyer, can’t believe they put that baby on stand letting this sick predator question him in anyway! Just horrific what the father did. He had probably survived childhood trauma himself or had an undiagnosed mental illness or possibly a combination of both. @@cheekyfantasy1314 it’s pretty funny, because prison is actually a much better decision in the long run. United States mental institutions are absolutely horrific, and your chances of early release are extremely low. They are places of utter despair, where truly sick people of the most severe caliber go. To be there, potentially indefinitely, whilst actually being sane would be probably worse than death. On top of the miserable atmosphere, you’d be forced to take drugs for whatever illness you faked which would produce seriously unpleasant side effects, on top of the fact that once you’re in it’s VERY hard to get out; even to normal prison. I seriously cannot emphasize how much of a black hole of sadness these institutions are.

nothing is wrong with him. he was faking it. typical insanity defense bullshit. you see that a lot with people who refuse legal counsel. they don't have anyone qualified telling them how likely it is to fail, so they actually convince themselves that they can beat the case with bullshit. watch the trial videos, you can see his process of elimination approach. first he tried making up a crazy conspiracy theory arguing that the case was "tampered with" and that the detectives framed him. when a detective adopted the son he tried to murder, the defense of demonizing the detectives kinda fell apart. so he switched gears and started pretending to be insane. just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. fortunately for civilized society, nothing stuck. the jury saw him for what he is, essentially a cruel scumbag with no excuse. pretending that he's mentally ill not only excuses him from responsibility, but it denies violent human nature and belittles the seriousness of it. we all have the propensity to violence, even extreme violence. just look at history, or at any other primate species. the difference is that we humans have moral principles, religion, social enforcement, etc. so it's not surprising that people who lack those things regress into antisocial behavior.

@CodeNation true, but there is the stereotype that all white people are racist, & unfair to blacks at every opportunity, that it becomes difficult to imagine them having any compassion towards the same black people.
