So what happened at the end is this: The Berserker armor allowed Guts one final push despite the fact that he was already dead, but he ran out of blood before he had a chance to land a finishing blow, which is actually foreshadowed when Dimitri pulled his spear out of Guts' body after his big attack, but no blood came out. Guts' brand at the end begins to bleed, but isn't actually his blood. Instead, it's a sign of a horde of demons coming to drag his soul into hell, because of that brand. But Dimitri realizes that Guts is someone tormented by demons, and thus decides to protect Guts.

To explain the death in case you’re confused: Guts was able to keep going for a tiny bit because of the armor, but he quickly ran out of blood in his body, and that’s why he stopped before landing the finishing blow

If anyone is confused, whenever a character has blank eyes, that usually means there unconscious or dead. Like yeah his eyes were open but his eyes were empty. The armor made it so he could keep going for a short time until he died for good. And then the demons came to take Guts’s body but Dimitri went to go kill the demons so Guts could die in eternal peace.

You know the darkest part of the Berserk story? As part of Griffith's deal with the Abyss, he can't be hurt by anyone that harbors any ill will towards him, which is probably why he did Guts so dirty with Castca. That means that so long as Gut's WANTS revenge against Griffith he will be physically unable to so much as muss his hair no matter how strong Guts gets.

When it was announced, I didn't Dimitri was going to stand a chance, but then I remembered he gets a +20% hit and evasion boost against opponents with swords and that he has ways to bypass armor with his lance (and using those abilities uses up the durability of his weapon, which is why its a nice touch to have the lance break at the end, since it would close to breaking at the end)

A few things you kinda missed. Guts was faster and more durable than Dimitri. But Dinitris skillset was almost perfectly catered to fight someone like guts. i.e. swordbreaker ability and seal movement. And as you saw Dimitri was stronger than him on top of that

I've played Fire Emblem Three Houses, and no Guts is not faster than Dimitri. Dimitri can reliably dodge lightning magic and light spells throughout most of the game, better than even your main character, Byleth, who can control time and cut dimensions.

The berserker armor pins your flesh and bones together so you can fight until you die. Guts bled out, but the armor was still holding him together. So he effectively died on his feet

The Berserker Amor is not a power up. It's actually the opposite. The Armor doesn't just give him a power boost, it pushes the wearer into a blind rage that drives em to kill everything around them. At the cost of ripping his own body apart it will also sap away at his 5 senses. The more he uses it, the more it takes from him which forces him to keep relying on it. His vision will fade, his hands will shake, his muscle mass will gradually decrease, even his taste will start to fade. The Armor will literally take EVERYTHING from Guts until he has nothing left.

To give you an idea of Dimitri’s strength, one of the best parts of Three Houses is that characters largely reflect their narrative strength in the gameplay. Felix is regarded as a master swordsman who’s fast and very strong. He is like this in combat. Hilda pretends to be weak, but everyone else claims she’s very strong, she is one of the hardest hitting physical units. Lysithea is a victim of human experimentation that greatly boosted her magic at the cost of a shortened lifespan. She’s considered the best mage in the game. Marianne and Linhardt are combat-averse, and excel as healers. Dimitri… Is probably one of the only characters in the 30 year long franchise to hit the damage cap. Without any New Game+ benefits. He has the highest maximum strength stat in the game. Max Str of 87 +16 from the Death Blow, Str+2, and Defiant Str abilities +5 from unlockable stat boosts +4 by being rallied (an action some units have to boost stats for a round) +2 from his Class +10 from a battalion +10 from Lancefaire abilities= 134 His weapon has 19 might, and the combat art Atrocity has 15= 34 weapon might using that art. Atrocity doubles damages against any enemy, so 68. 134+68= 202 A critical hit in Fire Emblem triples the damage: 606 Dimitri has a crest that can double the damage of an attack when he uses a combat art: 1212 damage, in a game where the cap is 999, and no enemy anywhere near 100 defense. TL;DR: Dimitri’s fucking nuts Also according to legends in the story, the sword Byleth wield can cut mountains in half, and Dimitri’s Lance is fairly comparable in its make.

So basically Guts was on the verge of bleeding out in the end with the final strike, what was left of his strength he used to break Areadbhar. But Dinitri used Seal speed to stop him from moving just in time to bleed out. In Berserk, the brand on Guts' neck summons demons that will drag Guts' soul to hell for eternity. Dimitri saw the incoming horde and leaped away to slay them all so Guts' spirit may finally know peace. What a fricken episode, man.

Yeah the fire embelm 3 houses cast are pretty op even in verse. Like how holst, balthus, hilda, and shez (4 3 hopes characters) fought a literal army of hundreds to thousands of hired killers including mages and horse mounted knights and the 4 treated it as a joke. And rapheal is able to rip boilders out the ground and use them like weapons by swinging them around like toys then crushing them while gleeful and he has said dimitri is still stronger then him.

Its always kinda implied that hilda is the physically strongest person in the story. But because she is lazy she never really lives up to her true potential. She does start out with "weak" stats compared to the other dps' in the game but in my playthroughs i have gotten better strenghts growths from her than any other "big bruiser".

But as far as all the other characters, personally i had an easier time throwing her in the front lines knowing she had the stats to hold her own against anyone who wasnt a magic caster. Like i said, for my playthroughs she had better growth stats than any of the other big bruisers(lords not included)

Dimitri isn't durable, it was his strength they scaled with rhea. They were saying if rhea survived x amount of gigatons and edwlgard killed her, then Dimitri is capable of dealing greater than x gigatons of power since he is stronger than edwlgard

Honestly…same. Not to be rude to the team or anything, but this season has been a bit boring so far. Like I like all the episodes (except Vader v Obito) but other than Chosen Undead V Dragonborn, none of the episodes really stack up to the previous seasons. Of all characters death battle has used so far, Dimitri is probably my favorite. I have a lot of really good memories playing Dimitri's route with one of my friends. Dimitri usually deals so much damage his kills his enemies 2 or 3 times over so I never really felt like Guts had a chance here. This fight is a very dedicated normal man fighting a demigod. Fun fact about his lance. Its alive. You can see it twitching and moving a bit in the game. No one ever mentions this. Its made from the bones of a god tho, so I guess that makes sense.

I won’t spoil powers but you know how ridiculous these things get. Silver Surfer is from Marvel and commonly associated with Fantastic Four but not always a part of the team. Again, I won’t spoil powers or stats but, there are comics for both and things usually go wild there.

Griffiths betrayel wasnt as simple as simply guts leaving him. Essentially he was in a slump after he left and because he never emotionally matured as a person his own tunnel visioned view on his feelings made him wanna compensate and to possibly feel power and control again. So he slept with the kings of Midlands daughter who he was emgaged to however her father found out and brutallly torutured Griffith for over a year and it left him a cripple. In his own warped and twisted emotional state he theroized that to honor all of the soldiers who sacrificed themselves for him and his dream of kingship he used the eclipse to regain his body back but at the cost of his humanity. However though its claimed that hes a cold unfeeling god at this point in the story him raping Casca was basically out of sheer spite for Guts leaving him and going off on his own even though he inadvertently led him to that point.

Even though I have yet to play Fire Emblem Three Houses (Which came out in 2019 to answer the question here at 12:57. It doesn't look the best because it's only playable on the dying fossil of console aka the Nintendo Switch) once I heard they scaled Dmitri to Edelgard being able to kill Dragon Rhea which to their logic scale him to over magical nuke level. I was like "So Dimitri won" cause on paper, it seems Guts would destroy Dimitri. But with how DB does their scaling, and how crazy JRPG scaling can go to defeating literal gods. It definitely helped give Dimitri the win, along with his magic and his weapon/ultimate ability thingy being able to go right through the Beserk Armor But honestly, the fight itself was pretty good. Like everyone else in the comments, Guts just bleed out before delivering the finishing blow (Which is honestly one of the best fake-out deaths in DB IMO) which is pretty badass and a good way to handle his death. Along with following up with Dimitri wanting to fight off and protect Gut's soul from the incoming demon. Really highlights both their character so damn well which is always amazing to see in Death Battle. So, it's pretty much a Win-Win for both fandoms, even though Guts' return match is a loss, he was done justice. As for Fire Emblem/ Dimitri fans, they get an awesome way to be introduced to Death Battle if this was their first-ever episode. As for the next time... It's another DC vs Marvel. But this time compared to at least liking Ant-Man from his DB and loving and caring for Raven for her DB. I know next to nothing about either of these two besides some piece of media here or there. My usual reaction is boredom that it's a DC vs Marvel match (Especially since this is not just the third one for the season, but literally the last episode was a DC vs Marvel). But just like in previous matchups, if my expectations are low, they should be easily met or surpass

As a Three Houses fan, I definitely feel like they gave Dimitri some things that I wouldn't have. He /can/ learn magic, but teaching time is a limited resource, and teaching him spells is just straight up not worth it with how bad his magic is compared to his strength when he'd be better off just carrying javelins, handaxes or especially in early Lunatic runs, a bow to use if he wants a ranged attack. He also can't even use the spells he does learn unless he's in a magic compatible class, which then itself nerfs his physical abilities. I also feel like there was some weird game abstraction with the whole "dodging meteors" thing where the spell meteors really are obviously not as strong or fast as an actual meteor given that they only damage a small area rather than outright nuking the entire map. He's completely broken, but only really brings out his best when acting as a leader fighting alongside troops in a desperate situations, gaining a massive effectiveness boost when fighting alongside a battalion on the brink of death. Outside of that scenario which a one on one fight would be, he's good, but he's not invincible.

The beserker armour keeps its wearer in the state they ran out of blood, also even if guts could cut dimitri's armour- dimitri has taken hits from people stronger and was fine.

simply put even if guts can cut through armour dimitri has taken worse hits and come out the other end fine. His body stopped because it ran out of blood- the armour acts like a cage stopping his body when it runs out. Quite frankly, with dimitri's absurd strength gap there was just no way guts could of won- he's not fast enough to avoid getting hit before he can kill dimitri because dimitri is just too tough- and one hit is all it'll take to take guts out.

Even severely lowballing Dimitri's AP to .5% still gives him a 20X power advantage over Guts, and they X2 speed difference is so relatively small in comparison that Dimitri can easily work around it. I've seen someone use "Saitama isn't meant to lose" as an argument, and that's not how vs battles work. Try to understand how they work first before you go saying things. In vs battles, a gag character can be multiversal, and a serious character could be building level, that's how it works. For example, Spongebob is Universal. You might be like "NUH UH DER HER SPONGEBOB IS A CARTOON CHARACTER DUH" but again, read up on the rules of vs battles.

The majority of the Fire Emblem games are on DS/3DS, and the Switch. Three Houses is on the Switch. Which is why the graphics aren't completely mind blowing. Plus Nintendo's leaned more towards anime style cutscenes instead of cg for the Fire Emblem games. Sadly those don't age well. As for agreeing. or disagreeing with the ending. What I forgot to factor in before watching the break down is the abilities Dimitri gained as he levels up in the game, and how they'd affect Guts. Fire Emblem is an RPG. So he learns new abilities, and skills as you level him up, and give him new gear.

Idk bro, I feel like Guts could've won even without the armour. He could've crouched by his sword for the lighting the same way he did against Ganishka. Not to mention that he duelled Serpico 1 handed and won on a cliff where he couldn't swing his sword. And being at least twice as fast as Dimitri according to DB, Guts would've had no problems fighting someone with a polearm not to mention his insane reaction time to dodge lighting. AND on top of all this, Skull Knight wore the Berserker Amour as well during his eclipse and ended up dying in it and came back as a wraith, which Guts is always warned about. So even if Guts dies in the armour, he could potentially come back. But Idk 6 magic nukes is 6 magic nukes after all.

While I agree that they super highballed Dimitri by giving him skills that no sane person would bother training in the actual game, like Mage Dimitri being a complete meme/part of a worst reclasses run there are a few things to note. Guts is more than twice as fast as Dimitri at the start, but they're giving him Seal Speed (Which I personally don't agree with, but my opinion doesn't matter), which must be from Heroes since it's the only game he gets access to it in. In Heroes it passively inflicts a -7 speed penalty with each interaction (Non-stacking). Being 5 points of speed above the opponent is the doubling threshold where you get two attacks for every one the opponent makes. So -7 speed would more than halve the difference, bringing the gap to a much more comparable level.
