I AM the Door of the Sheep| John 10:1-10 | Gary Hamrick

In ancient Israel, sheep and shepherds were common themes used to communicate spiritual truths. Jesus said that He was “the door of the sheep” in an illustration He gave to help us understand how He is the only way to have access to the sheep pen (which is a picture of the Church, the family of God). At the same time, Jesus warned about “thieves and robbers” who pose a threat to the sheep, and then encourages us about how He came to give us abundant life. Join Pastor Gary in today’s teaching as he continues in the “I AM” series through the Gospel of John.

This parable speaks to my spirit. I started to drift off in my sleep one day, but not quite into a deep sleep and I remember having this conversation with myself that what if he comes to the door and knocks, what will he say? I heard nothing for about two minutes until a voice clear as day said "Hi Jessica." It woke me straight up as if someone was right next to me. I knew almost immediately that I had heard the voice of God. I feel so blessed that God had spoken to me in this way. I was a newbie christian and had never knew of these verses at the time. Thank you for calling me by name Lord
