I love how Shimura says that Jin has no honor, but funnily enough I see it as the exact Opposite of that. Jin has given up EVERYTHING to save his people, going back to his conversation with his uncle as a kid where he's asked what honor means to him, he answered with protecting others who couldn't protect themselves. And that is exactly what he has been doing the whole game, while his uncle may not see him as honorable In my opinion I think he possibly has more honor than Shimura in Many ways.

I agree, Shimura was stuck in his ways thinking of honor as merely following what's been set out as rules and traditions and not realising that this was exactly what the enemy expected from them and were using against the samurai. Jin basically took an oath in a way to protect others who can't protect themselves and he basically chose that to be his way of life as a samurai. He stayed true to it even when his government turned on him for his actions. He had honor and he made the sacrifices that needed to be done for his people. I logged 330+ hours in this game and it really was 2020's gem of a game. One of my all time favorites for sure.

@@hutxy Oh absolutely, I've played through it about 5 times now and I'm about to do my 6th, it's bullshit that TLOU2 got Game of the year even though A: *The story was quite literally a fucking dumpster fire that everyone with brain cells HATED. I mean CHRIST, Even tyler1 was so fucking disappointed, like you'd expect him to have a fucking seizure but nah, he was purely just angry and Dissapointed* B: *- The game was glitchy as all hell, I couldn't genuinely play it whatsoever.*

I was more or less pissed off at the writing, specifically the fact that this random chick we have never even met is the one to blow Joel's fucking legs off and beat his head in with a golf club. I understand in the real world people don't get heroes death but *What the fuck, you're telling me this Joel just gave his name out and several other things to random people? The same Joel who could TELL when he was about to get ambushed IMMEDIATELY in the first game?* smells like bullshit to me. Not to mention the only fact anyone played past that point was in hopes of gutting Abby like a fish, and we didn't even get that. The story in my own opinion was one of the worst I had ever seen. Again you can like what you like, I'm certainly not a massive fan of the game, let alone the story. Again I apologize if i came off like an Ass in either of those statements, it just kind of annoyed me how a game which had a 1/10 took "game of the year" from so many other great games.

Exactly, yes. And Lord Shimura's code of honor didn't extend far because he was trying to get Jin to scapegoat Yuna for the Ghost's actions and he was willing to throw away the lives of their allies just because he wouldn't listen to Jin when he told him that a headfirst attack on the Mongols would only get people killed.

Yeah and another fun thing is that when Jin was born there was a fox just outside the home, and foxes are said to be the envoys of Inari the goddess of fortune and protector fox spirit in japanese myth, making the foxes that guide Jin to the shrines seem more like even tho in the eyes of the samurai Jin fights without honor the heavens still favor him

It's criminal that it's not the GOTY for 2020, what an absolute masterpiece of a game. Playing the legends mode now and will play the campaign again with new game plus as well. As mainly a fps gamer this game really hit home and I'm hooked.

@@hutxy So true. My GOTY for 2020 which surprised me because I wasn't expecting anything to beat FF7R for me. I just fell in love with Tsushima. Also, the community of fans are incredible people. I joke that if I play the multi-player part of any game, it's the equivalent of asking the game to marry me. 😂 I found it truly touching that so many fans of the game came together to donate to a Gofundme to help rebuild a temple on the real island. It's great that the love of a game had a real world effect like that.

He and Miyamoto Musashi have a lot in common when it comes to going against samurai tradition; That's definitely someone he should come across and learn from in the sequal, The video game was awesome through-and-through one of the best I've seen and played thus far, (next to red dead redemption 2) keep up the good work sucker punch; As far as the character of jin sakai goes I do not consider him a hypocrite or a tratior to honor at all, He continued to show himself to be the most honorable, more so than his uncle due to the fact that he valued innocent lives more than the need to appease the rigid dogma of the bushido code for the sake of his uncle and the shogun, they were facing an enemy that was using their code against them to take over the land and the people and jin saw no other choice but to break away from that in order for his people and his country to survive the murderous onslaught of the mongols, Thus it forced him down a path that he was Initially resistant to but ultimately embraced for the good of everyone Which in turn has made him a beloved living legend among his people as well as tsushima's very own japanese zorro, He may have sacrificed and lost everything because of the harsh choices he was forced to make, but he also gained a whole lot more from his willingness to sacrifice and lose everything for the greater good of all and he for a video game character has my utmost respect for that. He uncle however is the villain of his own story because he was willing to sacrifice an innocent woman like jin's friend yuna to the shogun and blame the poisoning of the mongols on her; something a man of honor should never do, so I personally don't care about lord shimura's pain, he deserves it and what better way for him to suffer more than to be spared and live with the humiliation of having his own nephew and "son" go on to become a better person and greater legend than him, the shogun and the entire class of the samurai. LONG LIVE THE GHOST!!! 🔥💯😉😁👍

I logged over 300 hrs on the game and after seeing Sony announce Spider-Man for pc, I have big hopes for this game to also get a pc port. I just want more people experiencing this amazing game. It also has really great online and I rarely get into the multiplayer side of story heavy games but it was done so well I played it a lot with friends.

3:11 oh yes, the true samurai Kazumasa Sakai, the same one who had no regrets after butchering who knows how many people for the sake of iki conquest. Literally kazumasa is far worse than jin

the dlc makes the story of Kazumasa seem like he was almost evil but honestly from the original story without the dlc all the talk of him being the butcher of iki was him doing so to raiders terrorising the land. You can interpret it as maybe how story or legacy of people are told through different perspectives. I mean Im sure to him and the samurai doing so they were protecting "normal" villagers from bandits and raiders but from the other perspective it was people doing things to survive and they were people with their own problems too etc and ofc they would see the samurai as being the hostile ones. Overall I did not like how the story protrayed Jins father. it sorta conflicted the respect and stories told in the originals storyline. but thats just my opinion on that i guess. thanks for watching!

@@hutxy that can be true. There is the shrine of tadayori nagao who confirm the difference of points of view never hesitated to use terror on iki. Jin did it on invaders and yet shimura sees him as a danger.
