It's so amazing that this games story is so simplistic yet so impactful! the story of a samurai who fell in battle, only to rise and be reborn as a new Warrior, one that abandons the honor code and uses Savage tactics that one would consider a coward who strikes from the shadows all for the sake of protecting his people, home, and loved ones by any means necessary! I loves the story because Jim saw the brutality of murder and guilt at a very young age. He was willing to abandon his honor teachings so that his people could live. The subtle touch when Jin is talking to lord samurai sent by the shogun and the lord says the shogun is worried about their peoples faith in the ghost because they may stop trusting the samurai. Jin says something like politics can wait until our island is safe. VERY similar to batman.

Lady Masako is the same as she is more of a landlady Onna-musha, she was part of the warrior class but not a samurai. Shimura is definitly a samurai, he is also a jito lord. When Jin becomes the ghost, that makes Shimura the last samurai. Other samurai on the island like the Yarikawa or guards are more like hired ronin and mercenaries since most of them dont serve a legal lord due to the supression of the rebellion.

For example, he is a one army ex samurai destroyer of mongols but he is also Jin, the man who plays the flute, remembers his mother through rituals and most importantly, changes of opinion. I wouldn't say Tsushima again because the Mongol invasion ended shortly after their fleet was annihilated in a colossal Typhoon in 1281 (called the divine wind which the term Kamikaze was named from) so a sequel would need to be based in another historical conflict. (not to mention the mongol invasion attempt only lasted a few years) The next major conflict in Japan was the Genkō War between1331 and 1333, 50 years after the Mongol Invasions took place. If they did a sequel in that time it would be more suitable to have it centered around Jins descendants/disciples whom carried on the legacy of the Ghost.
@mariuss15902 жыл бұрын
@@Andrew___P maybe but there wasnt a second invasion? In like a few years, then Tsushima would be probaly overwhelmed as they come in greater numbers, it could be a nice story as another relative of the Khan seeks to avenge his relative which was killed by Jin, and then maybe Jin evacuates the inland to fight on the main land Japan, then seeking help with the population there and pushes back to re gain the inland killing yet again another khan
@maylabrown45842 жыл бұрын
@@Andrew___P This isn't exactly based on real life history and Mainland Japan is still the Main Target, the only difference being that Tsushima is no longer a target as it only was for power. Jin sacrificed everything for the sake of the people of Tsushima. He broke his Uncle's code, sacrificing his own honor to protect the innocent. His family name and connection with his uncle, severed. It seemed cruel that he would end his uncle's life, even though his uncle asked it of him. To take the life of the last family he had after everything he had already sacrificed. That's why I chose the ending where you spare Lord Shimura. That and anyone familiar with the Mongol Invasions (yes, invasions, plural) knows that the people of Tsushima will need their Jito when the Mongols return. Lord Shimura will be there to prepare the island for that day and be there to greet the invaders, sword in hand. Jin Sakai will be there, working in the shadows to aid his uncle and his people. God I'd love to see a sequel. But I doubt it could beat the original in storytelling.

Honor is a fickle thing. An object we project to ourselves as a better soldier, a warrior without fear. But, honor is an illusion. One we choose to obey, or bend it in order to do what must be done. To save a village, to protect an entire nation when the enemy has control over the place called home. In order to destroy an enemy, is sometimes to fight without honor; to strike from the shadows, killing enemies without remorse. But know this: do what you believe is true. Do what must be done. And accept the consequences in the end.
