Chilled is like JesseCox when he played games of Secret Hitler with TotalBiscuit. Both can sound good and evil at the same time, and you never know when they are telling the truth or trolling others. Reminds me of when he had EVERYBODY fooled during 1 game. Jesse was Hitler that round and after 3 Fascist cards were down, he was voted in as Chancellor. They were like "Jesse, are you Hitler?" and he shows his card saying "Of course I'm fucking Hitler" as Jesse already won the game for the Fascists. All the Liberals were like "WHAT!!!?" and lost their minds because they got completely blindsided.

So the "don't talk about the cards until a policy has been chosen" rule prevents some communication that specifically might let the Separatists tell Palpatine who they are; e.g. a Separatist apologizes out loud for passing two red cards to Palpatine, but actually passes a red and a blue, so Palpatine knows that their teammate is covering for them playing a red. Or a Loyalist could pass the same cards to test...so maybe it wouldn't be so much of an advantage.

That first game was so frustrating, Chilled and Barbara were obviously evil halfway through and Ze called it clearly, but nobody listened.

except Chilled is always "obviously evil", even when he's not. Ze's "I understand your logic but it makes me think you're Evil" is a dumb way to phrase his suspicions, and the second time Barbara was Vice Chair (when she shot Cheesy), he hasn't voiced a word of suspicion on her, just voted no and bye bye. It's literally "logic vs feelings" meme. Chilled used reasonable logic, even if suspicious, and all Ze could say in retort was "it makes me think you're evil, we should kill the confirmed bad guy", except he was not confirmed to Ze and any other non-Cheesy loyalist, and Chilled was one of the people to "confirm" he's evil. Obviously killing a super suspicious person is better than killing whoever she killed, because Tom can still vote for supreme chancellors and if you shot an innocent person you're fucked, but Ze hasn't said any of that. He said "Tom would eventually become Vice Chair" (except you would vote no on any of his picks) and "Tom could be Palpatine" (except it wouldn't change much, since you wouldn't vote him in as chancellor and even if two loyalists were shot, it's going to be a tie). What Ze had to do was counterargument using the issue with votes ("Tom needs to die, because if he's alive he can still vote for the supreme chancellor, and if you fail to shoot a separatist it's going to be easier for the bad guys to win the vote), and if it failed, he should have objected if either Chilled, Tom, or Barbara were Vice Chairs or chosen as Chancellors ("Tom is Evil, Chilled defended Tom, and Barbara refused to shoot Tom. If Barbara has shot a loyalist, the odds of them getting the fifth separatist vote is increased, and we can't let either of them kill anyone again, because they will shoot a loyalist and be able to tie the vote every time we don't choose any of them, and the odds of getting a policy are in separatist's favour."). Ze hasn't said *any of that*. Ze just wanted to kill Tom because he felt like it, and called Chilled evil because, once again, he just felt like it. Obviously they should play however they want. I'm not saying they need to think the way I think. I'm not saying any of them is dumb. But if you don't use reason, don't be frustrated when people choose to listen to Chilled instead, who actually at least tries to use logic in his favour.

The problem is, Ze was the only one willing to actually think about what Chilled was saying there and realize how ridiculously stupid it sounds. More than that, they had no reason to suspect anyone else except Tom by that point, so when someone says “let’s not kill Tom, even though we all absolutely agree he’s evil,” that should raise red flags. The fact that they never even considered the possibility of Barbara being evil and willingly gave her the gun a SECOND TIME was just nonsense.

@The Phenomenal Raven Pure nonsense. Chilled's logic, *on the surface*, made perfect sense, and that was the issue. They didn't "100% agree" Tom is evil. No one except Cheesy, Chilled, and Tom knew the truth. Chilled was literally ONE of TWO people that "confirmed" Tom's a separatist, making the people more likely to agree with him. The logic, obviously, was full of holes. Barbara couldn't have killed Tom who was a Palpatine, and Chilled needed him to stay alive so he made something up on the spot. No one could find a fault with his logic, not even Ze (who said he "understood the logic" and didn't have any counterargument except "Tom is evil!!!" and started talking about Tom becoming a Vice Chair, which you just vote him down, or Tom being Palpatine, but you can just not vote him as Chancellor, so him being Palpatine doesn't change shit except winning when he's shot, but no one knew if he's actually Palpatine, just had high suspicion on him being a separatist), so people just accepted it. It's very easy to talk after the fact. In the moment, shit just happens. Chilled took a risk and made something up quickly because Tom just couldn't have died, Ze couldn't think of a clear rebuttal and just kinda incoherently babbled, other people went with it, Barbara used it as a way out, and that's that.

Ngl, I got a little mad that they legit almost didn't incluide you in the first two games. Yes, it is a bit hard to keep track on 8 people, but it's important to make everyone feel comfortable. Barbara got elected right after you almost unanimously while you two were in the same condition. Try to speak up a bit when this happens because it causes a problem.

Also, somewhat important rule that often gets overlooked: When there are less than three policy cards in the deck, do NOT draw them, don't even look at them. You shuffle them back in with everything else. Seems minor, but it has impacts on the game. The person drawing three cards is going to gain information on which cards were left. For instance, so you had a few rounds of people claiming they got all reds. You draw the final two cards and see they are also red. You now have even more reason than everyone else to be suspicious. Or maybe you draw the final two blue cards, now you can verify those accounts that blues were unfortunately just hard to come by. Not entirely game breaking, but it can make an impact. (maybe not so much with a new crowd.)

Man was that first game obvious when Chilled argued against killing Tom, lol. Chilled was somehow able to hitch on to the Matt/Cheesy train and no one ever thought to question it. His argument for keeping a fascist in charge just made zero sense. He remains an influence on all chancellor votes. And worst yet, when a fascist gets to kill a second person, that vote is 50/50 split, lol. And on the same note, kudos to Chilled for somehow finding a way out to kind of give plausible deniability for Barb to kill someone else on that first round. (Even if it shouldn't have.) That was probably the only possible way to keep someone alive who really botched the Palpatine role, lol Tom should have been much more subtle about being bad. Best way to win as the bad guys is to get the chancellor role to Palpatine. Filling the board with fascist policies is less reliable.

Unless you mean when he passed the blue policy, that was too early. The instawin can only happen if 3 red policies have been passed.

In the original game, Secret Hitler, the roles are President and Chancellor. Historically, under the Weimar constitution, the President could appoint and dismiss the chancellor at will. They made up a role since Star Wars has no analog for it.
