It really seems that Brad sang for the pure enjoyment of singing, he may have lost his way at the end, but for the totality of his life, it seems as he was genuinely one of the 'good guys'...RIP Mr Brad Delp

TheMoonchild1969 I remember that holy shit feeling the first time I heard Brad sing a Lennon vocal. Gave me goosebumps. I KNEW he could sound like Paul but John too? No ego on sweet Brad. If he didn't think he was doing the song justice they wouldn't play it. I miss him a lot

@@13magic74 I played in the band. I couldn't tell a Brad track from a Paul McCartney track, walking into sound check in Webster, MA - I asked 'Is this the Beatles Anthology?,' the answer 'No - its YOU ! (Beatle Juice.)' "THAT's PAUL MCCARTNEY!" I replied. The song was "She's A Woman," which they were using for a sound check in the large 'house sound system' (may have been Carl's system that he'd bring into Point Breeze??") Again, Jeff telling me, "NO, it is YOU on WZLX last week!" I couldn't tell the difference till I listened deeper in the mix for my guitar, the Gretsch SilverJet. It wasn't the same model George Harrison had used for the recording - which was probably the Tennessean or the Country Gentleman Gretsch model, so I finally recognized the Silverjet AND that it was us - not the Beatles. 'HOLY .....' I replied - 'who did the mix? It was guy named Brian Petroccia (sp??) he was a keyboard player and superb at the mixing board. I remember walking into the 22nd floor of the Prudential building for that performance, difficult on the road crew getting all our equipment up there, and there were two clouds of smoke coming out of the monitor speakers, which they'd just blown w too much 'juice' (forgive,) lots went wrong, but when we were finally ready, one technical setback after another, and I was monitoring everyone with headphones since we were playing in different rooms. I could see muzz through a glass or plexi window, and feel his kick, but relying on the ONE working earphone, while the other earphone was giving me loud static - nothing else, (so earplug went in that ear for my vocal monitor - that's how I performed, either one or both ears plugged just to hear my own voice clearly, - none of that mattered, the mix was so fine! Cheers, Brian P - where ever you are - all the power!! It's not such an easy job.

This was every bit as good as any live Electric Light Orchestra performance that I'd ever seen. Just fantastic. The boardman and sound crew deserve high kudos here. Job well done.

Fabulous! If BJ can perform this classic with tremendous instrumentation inside a high school, one can only imagine the Beatles performing it to a NYC audience live from atop the Freedom Tower!

He was amazing and such a wonderful person to meet. Saw him with Beatlejuice once when he had the flu. Would never have known it from his performance. We only found out later but, he was still gracious enough to sign autographs. ❤

Obviously the Beatles never sang this live. I think Brad did a better job than John ever could have. I say this because Lennon would often mess up lyrics to relatively simple songs like Help. How on Earth could he have memorized these " daft" lyrics?

Are they doing the "Everybody's got one" line or "Everybody smoke pot"? Hard to tell...

Playing at a high school? That's quite a step down from selling out concerts at the likes of Madison Square Garden.

Not for Brad it wasn't a step down, this was just his side band when Boston wasn't touring, I believe he enjoyed the small venues better because he was such a big Beatles fan that he loved playing those songs and it didn't matter to him where he played them, he was such a down to earth guy that being a big rock star never went to his head, I was a lucky one that got to meet him
