Hi I saw a Donny walker video a while back he was was working on either a 562 ora 550 what he. Found was the grounding wire that goes from the coil to the on off switch was chafed where it went through the case and intermittently shorting onto the case worth checking out he also ground the case slightly to make more room for the wires to pass after he fixed it just trying to help
@oakiewoodsman
@oakiewoodsman 8 ай бұрын
something to keep in mind for sure. Maybe the wire has a small rub in it. It is at the shop at this point in time. That could surely create a "missing" type issue as a low resistance or even high resistance short could be occuring. I do remember seeing that video some time ago. Thank you for the contribution!

@@oakiewoodsman Yes, 30 hrs isn't much time on a saw but it would only take 30 seconds if you got a dirty shot of fuel in the tank to foul the filter or screen in the carb. I'd dump the fuel in the tank into a glass jar and look at it. Take the fuel filter off and blow thru it - just trouble shooting you can do yourself before you drag the saw to the dealer....

I have an older 362 xp the only time ever having a hot start issue was when asking the saw to do more than it was intended to do. milling dry purple heart in summer temps. Have had the auto tune get confused once between extreme temp changes but it quickly tuned itself. repeated full bar cuts with a clogged air filter is asking a bit much of the saw.

Mr Joe, great video showing us these issues with the saw. Im confident you will get it figured out. Its easy to loose confidence in a machine when it acts like that. Definitely makes you want to make sure you carry a backup I dont hand file very often. I try not to. There is definitely an art to it. Im sure with your persistence, you will have the hand filing down pat soon. Im not sure about the issue. It does sound like a fueling issue, but that dont make much sense since sometimes it seems to run decent. Maybe check the fuel filter. I struggle with the wind knocking over my tripods regularly. I have a 562XP that I bought back in 2016. It almost immediately had hot start issues. The ONLY way I could get it to start was by taking the plug out and letting it cool off for a few mins. I took it into my dealer and they did a flash update on the auto-tune controller. Its ran perfectly ever since. I've put on the updated filter kit and a pipe. The auto-tune did its changes after and Ive even changed my mix from 50:1 to 40:1. I think it actually runs better with the new mix. The pipe helps keep things cooler as well. I haven't had a single issue once the controller was flashed/updated. I love my 562XP. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing your experience with your 562XP. I have been running mine every opportunity I can and so far it has been running very well. I think that the heat as you mention is the biggest issue on these machines. They made some useful changes it seems on the new Mark ii Models including reducing compression. I run 40:1 just like you and would really like to mod my muffler but I am stuck in this place of once I do that, the shop will not want to work with me any longer and the saw has not given me confidence enough to void that warranty. I would not mind trying a bolt on of some sort but as far as cutting up my factory one, I am out as of this moment in time. Thank you much for watching and sharing. Be safe! So I’m not a husky tech but I know they were having issues with the fuel filters on the 562/572 letting super fine particles in that can mess up the auto tune system. I’d also triple check the air filter as that hard wood is dusty when cutting so that can cause some issues. It’s hard to say as I’ve never personally had those issues but those are what the dealers have been told to watch for. Other than those and in my experience I’ve never had many issues with those saws, the early 5 series had the crank bearing issues but since that I haven’t seen anything to major. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I don’t run 5 series saws personally in my own collection and my newest saw is my new to me 390xp w😂 and I will never trade it in for a new 585/592. But no matter what great video as always brother, keep up the incredible work❤

👍👍maybe go with the basics- plug and fuel filter change and clean the air filter. Do them one at a time and see if you can determine the issue. Air filter is a free one- just get after it with some soap and water! Last 1/2 of the video- inability to purge or the purge not filling is a good indication of a restriction- just an FYI.

@oakiewoodsman 8 ай бұрын
I will get to the filter for sure. Do you think it looks horrendous? I know it could be better but I wouldn't have thought this would have been too bad. Certainly needs a cleaning now. @crazyfeller5704
@crazyfeller5704 8 ай бұрын
Fuel filter or the carb. That purge should pull it from the tank to the carb and back to the tank. If it’s not doing that, restriction somewhere or maybe a crack on the suction side.

Interesting about the primer bulb issue. I wonder if these 562xp saws aren't set up something like the Stihl 4 mix carbs. If the non replaceable check valves are bad in the carb they will not run right and primer will be about half full and will not prim right and hard to start and not run right. I found pump gas or ethanol fuel ruins carbs in a short time so I switched to VP canned fuel and that fixed my carb problems with all my saws and small engines.

A man cant spend hard earned money on equipment and then hope and wander if it will perform when needed. Echo 620 is the best value dollar for dollar in the 60cc class. If the fuel filter is clean and the fuel lines from tank to carb and carb to purge bulb are free of any pinholes, I'd be suspicious of fines in the carb potentially blocking the internal screen and/or causing an imperfect seal of the flaps on the pumping diaphragm. @@oakiewoodsman even stihl die hards admit, begrudgingly, that when they are right there is no better saw in the 60cc class than the 562xp. If the auto tune 3.0 in the mk2 fixes some of these funky issues in these, then the rest of the segment is in trouble. The only downside to the 562xp is that the 362 is the lightest 60cc saw. And the 400c, which is often called a 60cc class saw even though it's 66.7cc, is also slightly lighter. The 462 weighs basically the same as the 562xp and nobody who is honest with themselves will say the 562 matches a 462. Myself, I'd have traded that husky in already. Possibly even for another 562. But those echo 620s are animals. I won't say that the echos are always in perfect tune but they seem to hold closest to being in a good tune regardless of the weather once they are tuned in perfect at your average weather. They don't seem to fall outta tune easily with weather changes as some saws do. I specifically haven't bought a 550xp (or mk2) or 261 for the exact reasons you love your 562xp.

@@bryantitus6634 for me it is all a function of weight, cost, feel and reliability. I ended up with the 562 due to the first 3 things while hoping for reliability. The 400c was really the only other consideration because it is on par in performance it seems. I did know it was lighter but I wasn’t fond of the cost. I have kinda second guessed myself since then.

None of my 4 chainsaws have a fuel bulb. Thus, I can't offer advice on that. I would clean the air filter & try a new spark plug. My old Poulan was acting up a few months ago. Put in a new spark plug, & it ran perfectly. Not saying that's your problem, but it's where I start with most small engines. Reading other posts, I would replace the gas filter in the tank, too. Do the air filter, spark plug, and fuel filter, and then decide to trade it in. 🙂 Hopefully, it will be fine after that.

I kinda got turned off to 500s though for exactly the same stuff your going through we had 3 562's go through my job and go back to dealer before they stopped buying them. @oakiewoodsman Husqvarna took a month to get me my new 395 without responding once haha. Another reason I'm hesitant to invest in a platform that necessitates dealer and manufacturers support there will be 300 series parts able to be bought online for at least my lifetime and never need to be plugged in. Think if I was going auto tune for smaller saws would be stihl the 400c kinda beats the 462 in every way and I've never had issues with the newer mtronic. Bigger saws would either go 300 series or maybe the 585 just cause they don't use the Husqvarna auto tune and that platform has great AV setup and very broad power band. Really I think the 620 is a better saw but you don't seem to run it much so my next suggestion would be the 400c.

The 620 is great but the 562XP is just nicer to use. All that is to it. However, nice doesn't solve broken. My 620 did get an oiler under warranty though. Again, I have the ECHO here and if a tree falls over my driveway with all this wind we are having, it gets to save the day while the 562 sits on the shelf in the shop again. I thought you were talking about non XT 372s. Would you recommend the 372XT? I used my buddys and liked it quite a bit. I am not opposed to the 400c though. Maybe I need to spread my wings. 550 does the same thing. I do believe it is the Auto-Tune. Going from smaller limbing to larger bucking, and back again... the auto-tune falls on its face. At 22:00 it sounds like the saw is heat-saturated. Those dumbass potato mufflers have so many baffles, they act like a fat heat-sink... throwing off the temperature calibration of the control module's fuel/air mixture.... If that makes any sense. The 562xp Mk 2 does the same thing. If you're going to limb all day... Fine. Buck all day... Fine. But Husky engineering design hates to do both.

And a saw shouldn't stumble when dealing with that occasionally. As far as the size of wood... ? Absolutely not an issue. Your bar is well within any manufacturer's guidelines... Send the video with time stamps to your dealer and the husky rep and see what they say. Again, you spent hard earned money on a "pro grade tool" that isn't working. If it's outside the scope of regular maintinance I would make them fix it. Tolls have warranty for a reason. You shouldn't be the one losing sleep over it. @oakiewoodsman as best I can tell, the only problem child husky has is the 562, which sucks, because that's what you've got. I've heard very few bad reports on the 572 other than its peaky. It's not a dog on and rail on it saw. The 562mk2 looks pretty great from what I'm seeing, but you already have a great 60cc in the 620. It's a hard call. Does your dealer do trade-ins? Coult try trading that stock 310, the 660 clone, and the 562 in for something really nice, like a 572 or 7310 and spare bars and a bunch of chains or something. Idk. I'm just thinking out loud. I'm looking to sell off my 4010 too. 2 trips to the dealer in 1 year is unacceptable to me. The dealer will fix it but that's not the point. I feel your frusration. One big thing IS your fault. You know there is a flaw with your saw and you KEEP ON RUNNING IT. Do you ever watch Richard Flag about auto tunes, Husky or Stihl? He says if it is messing up, then STOP! Your auto tune is going nuts trying to compensate for an erratic or intermittent lean condtion. Maybe a crank seal or mating of carb to or other. Its rumming way lean beyond auto tume's abolity to control. By now, I figure you have problems caused by the basic problem and your continued use running so lean. Then again, I have no experience with a 52XP, wo what do I know??? The bulb is a "purge" bulb and pull fuel OUT of the carb, so if saw is over hearing it will pull vapor from over heated fuel or if the fuel line to the carb from tank is leakeing it can be air. I think it is fuel vapor and that is why you rum better on cool start. But. what do I know? I am not there.

These comparison videos are driving me mad man!(I honestly think these tests are very bad on the saws, hear me out fella'sI) noticed you guys are trying to eliminate all the variables and i honestly think you guys are actually damn near burning your saws up, just for the sake of trying to please all the viewers/fan boys who cant see their saw be beaten. But when u guys pin the throttle back wide open, and are not using the dogs and chains rakers haven't been been touched. So if u pay attention, you'll notice the engines are at a high rpm with very lil load on them. I personally feel like its probably one of the worst ways u can run a saw. Granted, we know its ok to "Stand Up & Buck" however, the chains have to be setup for that. Basically adjusting the rakers, to get the saw to pull. Not a lot but enough to keep the load on the engine when not using doggers. When you are cutting through the wood and the saws level and has factory height rakers. Youll notice theres more dusty material than chips. Thats because its not being put in a position to get a full chip on each cutting tooth. Instead they are barely grazing the wood because of how slow its going through the cut witth a very high rpm. I mean its not much different then starting it up, and pinning its ears back wide open throttle doing nothing more than spinning the chain. Itd be like putting a car in first gear and reving the hell out of the engine, vs a higher gear lower rpm. Do you understand what im saying here? Its the way that you guys are cutting that is horrible for a chainsaw. Not to mention an engines powerband is where its going to do the best at. Any engine will actually lose power after a certain rpm. So thats what im trying to say, is that by you guys running WOT with very lil to no load. You are putting the saw through hell and back! Didnt you notice in the beginning your saw was doing fairly well? If you go back and look, you were putting a proper load on the chain! You were using the doggers while cutting, during your "Warming up phase" Then you not only pinned the throttle wide open under very lil load. You then "sharpened" the saw making it cut even less, which allows the chain to spin at an even higher rpm for a longer period of time. Having a saw thats cutting powder and not using the dogs to load the saw. Will make the cut take much longer. Meaning not only is it having to stay in the cut longer, its gotta do so with the engine redlined. With no load on it, which is basically just as bad as starting the saw up, disengaging the brake and pinning the throttle wot for however long that cut took. Lets say 30seconds! You wouldn't dare free wheel the saw at WOT for that long, now would you? I honestly whole heartedly believe it burnt the saw up! You gotta remember, these saws are essentially Aircooled. And they dont have the luxury of lube splashing on their internals. Obviously its partially cooled and lubed from the fuel. But i think you understand what im getting at! My advice to you would be, screw the haters/naysayers! Use the dogs while cutting, try to use the same technique for both saws. Do like 5-10 cuts, so you can have a more accurate result. Its hard to deny the results, when they are essentially the same outcome on each cut vs the other contender. SORRY FOR THE LONG ASS COMMENT! lol, i have a hard time keeping things short and sweet. BTW ive been cutting tree's for over a decade. Ive used a lot of chainsaws. Im actually more of a stihl guy, but honestly they have came a long ways over at Husqvarna in the past decade. And ill gladly say, idt its the saws fault by itself. I trust Husqvarna more than that. Damn good saws, no doubt! Anyway Have a great/Happy easter!

First and foremost, I really appreciate the time you took and the effort you placed in this comment. I find this interesting because it has crossed my mind. Now, I do believe you may be onto something and I will find out shortly. So far the shop has told me there were no error codes. These Husqvarna 5 series saws really do not have a lot of low end and enjoy being up in the RPMs. Dogging in often yields a slower cut. That does not mean the saw was not getting overheated. Now, if these cuts were too much for the saw and it simply was getting too hot, that could certainly be the case. From my understanding, these saw do not like “abuse” or aggressive hard use on them and that can lead to bearing failure on the PTO side. Could it be that what you are saying is true and also the saw is too particular to be run in the manner you are saying. I get where you are at with the whole thing. I understand the saw was cutting with a less than optimal chain at one point. I am just thinking about all the saws throughout the years that have been used and abused with super dull chains, bad habits, etc and have stood up to the test of time from all of the companies. Interesting. Could it be that these saws are just too highly specialized to be actually used in the field? Now, again, we will see what happens in the long run. The saw originally behaved like this in smaller wood not being tested like this. It was real world. Just because it was a similar result, does not mean however that the same fault has occurred Again, thank you for taking the time to write this all out and I am certainly open to what you are saying.

@@oakiewoodsman you should clean the air filter after/before “normal’ use. Never had one of my saws go down for any air filter problem. Light frame…..it’s metal, and Stihl lighter then any clones or Husky of the same size. You can cut all day, even at my age. How does that go for you with the lead weight clones? Why not spend once, vs having to buy many parts to make run right/to keep up. Why spend more bucks to port a saw? Why not just buy once and cry once. IMHO…..but that’s just me. I don’t see how all the heavyweights and port work does anything for reliability or the weight, except to wear a person out, when you can get great performance,reasonable weight and be able to cut all day…..oh well, maybe one day when I get older I’ll understand why one would choose the way some choose. Most all saws cut, some cut great, many brands, I actually like Husky’s……but I buy for a specific job and try and consider all the factors when dropping hard earned cash. I don’t put monster bars on small saws, I don’t try and PEAK a saws performance while losing reliability…….nope. Just use the right saw for the job, use it hard…..put it away, serviced and clean, ready to go when needed again. Knock,on wood, have yet to have one in the shop for anything yet……and at over 70…..well that has been awhile. Enjoy your video’s and when you have run saws a few more years, well you might understand my point of view. Till then, I’ll just shut up and watch you enjoy the adventure……..you should start now…..go back and watch/listen to your first saw video’s and your view of all things saw wise. Don’t go by just what other’s say, see for yourself. Experience it yourself. oh well, I have run my mouth long enough. Oh and thanks, yes I have a few nice ones in the collection, appreciate ya saying so. If I were younger might have a big Husky or big Stihl too…..but it’s more fun to run a Vette then a Tank……having run both 😎😁 Have a Great Week Joe 👍👏🇺🇸 Rick

Fuel,,, Fuel,, Fuel, one day all of my saws acted up, Echo and Husqvarna. Ethanol was the problem !!!! I filter it out with water, my saws run just fine. 572xp.. Also you are asking that 562 to over work in larger trees without porting or pipe work !!!! Again,, FUEL WITH ETHANOL is the real problem.

@@GASparky217 certainly check out most of my content. I have quite a few nice saws and this 562 is run quite a bit. Especially in some upcoming videos. The saw is fantastic but the company is not as good to their customers as I would have wished. I did everything I could to reach out to them. I love ECHO but the saw just do not compare in terms of fun and feel. That is all that is to it. I have two brand new ECHO saws on my bench right now. Both of them are VERY good saws. I would love to have a 572. I have just come to the conclusion that Husqvarna does not back up their stuff when you are working with a small dealer. It is like they do not care. I have never dealt with STIHL on a warranty issue so I cannot speak to them. I have however dealt with ECHO and it was EASY and repaired correctly.

I have the same issues with my 592. Many trips to the shop with it. Some days it cuts really well with no problems and other days it won’t open up. My dealer hooks it up to the computer and fixes the air- fuel ratio and it’s good for a couple days sometimes weeks then will mess up again. Really frustrating

@@oakiewoodsman Definitely not a dirty air filter in my case. Might make 4 or 5 cuts first thing in the morning and it will act up. I clean my saws daily. The last couple of times it has acted up I just throw it back in the truck and use another saw. After a few days I tried it again and it was fine. Definitely a problem with the auto tune. Tried a new coil, spark plugs, gas filter and no luck. If I ever figure it out I’ll let you know! Happy cutting!

I'm sorry, but it's not the saw as frustrating as it is ad that was me originally in the same boat....it's either dirty carb due to shit air filter, fuel filter, fuel itself, need to have dealer simply flash it's limited brain, or you're not properly field tuning it. If it's anything else then you very well may have a much larger issue but 95% of the time guys are shitting on the auto tunes the truth is it's them and the so called problems aren't problems at all
@oakiewoodsman
@oakiewoodsman 7 ай бұрын
I understand where you are coming from but I respectfully disagree to an extent. The reason being is that they had to change the Mark II to be operationally suitable. This saw is awesome but in my opinion, the mix of physical design and autotune capability limit its reliability. In fact, I ran my 545 yesterday and observed how it starts easily hot or cold. Does not require fast idle when hot, shares the filter and fuel filter and has autotune as well. Also, it is getting the same fuel out of the same bottle. The only difference is the saw. Thank you for watching and commenting.

@oakiewoodsman you're 100% correct. And again same as you not to disagree in an argumentative manner here, I just mean in short 95% of the time once you've experienced more strange happenings with the auto tunes you learn the causes and how to fix them. I had my 562 do the same exact thing after taking a large yellow birch and a big limb was stuck into another nearby tree so I needed the saw to cut the limb letting the tree fully lay safely but it was bogging and running like shit, I was out of my mind as I didn't have the time to mess with it so I threw it very hard away into the woodshed and ran my overkill 572 the rest of the cutting that day. Taking the 562 apart however I noticed the air filter was clogged worse than it really looked, taking it off to clear it out good I saw shit building up INSIDE the dam carb, after taking it off and cleaning it good AND new air and fuel filters she fired up, I field tuned her and that was 3 years ago never had another issue knock on wood. I replace my air filter every season and fuel when I think about it lol I know for a fact there's local guys very good with their saws who needed the dealer to flash their very limited chip though. Point is they're actually easy to fix persay, and when "YOU" can't the dealer can in minutes. I admit I wish you and I could flash the saws ourselves for free but wtf can't have everything
