There is an updated video with that. These saws were compared right out of the box as if someone just got them delivered. Also, ECHO 2T stuff takes time to break in as well. Updated video kzbin.info/www/bejne/ep6lfHqLrNqberc

I noticed you had the guard removed. Good or bad idea ?
@oakiewoodsman
@oakiewoodsman 3 сағат бұрын
The guard truly does assist in keep the string the proper length, and does protect from debris coming back at you. I find that the weight savings and agile feel are worth the trade off. The string length is a feel thing and I sometimes will wear protective pants while trimming. It hurts to get wacked!

Both are fine. I generally do a combination of both since my logs are almost always sitting on the ground. I will dog in rolling the saw forward until the bar tip gets close to ground contact. Then I will pull the saw back and to horizontal and finish the cut following the cut that was just made. Easy peasy.

I hated the factory bump feed trimmer head on my gas trimmer. It never fed the line out correctly causing the line to break off at the spool, which resulted in taking it apart all the time. I tried a small bucket load of various other trimmer heads (plastic blades, various Weed Warrior designs, etc...) over the past 3 decades. Yes, I purchased my one & only gas trimmer (32 cc) back in 1994. The Speed Feed 400 is by far the best string trimmer head I have ever used. I can't recommend it enough!

Good to hear Mark! When i made my initial 2620 purchase, the head was part of the decision making. I knew that if i purchased another brand, i would then ultimately still want the ECHO Speed feed setup. The trimmers are great too so it was a great combination that has worked well for me!

@@oakiewoodsman 👊OW, I bought a 5pk of the aftermarket 400 and a few of the 450 model. I found a trimmer(Shindaiwa 242) at the scrap yard w/ a SF400 on it, end cap is almost worn through all @ but works. The aftermarket ones I have, the end caps will not interchange w/ the name brand but just my experience though.
