I also love that we don't get flashbacks to prove any of this. Aside from the remarkable facial similarity, which is obviously coincidental in the real world, it's entirely possible that Tommy made that story up himself. Maybe he was just bullshitting. The fact that he might of brought in a complete stranger boy as his own son when he wasn't blood (the possibility) makes this even more impactful.

You’ve completely misunderstood the show. If you watched it properly, you would know that Tommy has been a horrible person from the beginning and he’s being horrible to Duke too. Linda mentions in s5 that Arthur handles the crime because if anything bad happens, it will be Arthur who takes the bullet/jail time. Tommy is literally putting his own son in charge of that stuff knowing he doesn’t the strength or bravery that arthur has. Duke will die and Tommy knows it.

I love the motif the last two seasons brought in of bringing in a new and very important character in the last two episodes who changes the whole course of the series. I love that we don't even need to get to know this character, that he comes out of nowhere, he's a nobody, so young, and he is accepted as the son of Tommy Shelby. I am also in my early twenties and not long after this season came out I had a dream that *I* was the son of Tommy Shelby.
