One of the things I like in this mod (although I barely use it) is the ability to pick a fight with nearly every ship or station you find, even if they're 100% friendly to you. An Engi ship is selling their stuff so they can fix themselves up? Get them while they're weak! An outpost that is literally giving you free shit? Attack the bastards! You can be the most dangerous pirate this universe has ever seen, if you want.

This has nothing to do with FTL, but this last year I've started getting into the Wizardry series. And those games can feel very much like that at times, as well. There are times when you can feel comfortable, but feeling comfortable is always a trap. Death lurks around every corner, and no matter how well things are going, there's always the possibility of everything suddenly going completely wrong.

I find it funny that he says the emergency manual doesn't seem to do much when he hasn't even used it, yet. He skips the pre-combat check every time.

Almost every shop he has visited has multiple pages but he hasn't clicked it once. Its like his brain sees 1/3 and thinks it is just 3 items on the screen rather than 3 pages worth of 3 items.

I sincerely appreciate that Jared is pretty good at this game. I've seen youtubers try to play it and make totally boneheaded decisions, bordering on just not know how to play the game, and it makes me want to pull my hair out.

I love the lore they added to the engineers; they're robotic, so they have a mainframe to obey. So, the engineers are divided between those still blind to it, and those who obtained free thought. Similar to matrix.

If I can give you just one piece of advice if you struggle too much... The cloaking Device is really good even for the final boss. Of course, you need to learn how to use it properly (which isn't that hard) but with it, I'm sure you'll be able to beat it on the easiest difficulty, even on medium. Hard can still be a little difficult though, but if you keep at it and get good at micromanaging and pausing the game, you'll do it!

I usually sell drones if I don't have a drone system. If you can encounter a ship that can't hurt you then you should use that opportunity to level up. 8:51 69 scrap. Noice! We just uh... legally obtained this new ship. Seems legit. The large sun isn't a huge issue if you have rockmen or a drone ship (there's a mod where you can use drone ships). 26:06 Not a very good deal. If they are offering 3 of something I need or a weapon or drone part then I will accept their offer for surrender. This game is so fun. If my computer was working properly I would mod this and play it again. 28:10 I would take the rock guy. He could be useful for dealing with boarders and fire.

Just a reminder. In battle, it makes slightly more sense to reassign non combat essential energy to weapons. In this case, the one power you've got assigned to your med bay (which you havent yet used in battle) would have saved your butt if it was instead assigned to your 4th weapon that you weren't using. Just saying.

Is it possible to assign targets for your weapons while the weapons are in the process of charging up? Jerd seems to only be setting up his attacks after they've charged up. Edit: actually, maybe he's waiting for their shields to go down before unloading everything on them which is a good strat. And yeah, is very bizarre that he's so far never used his Emergency Manual after reading how awesome it was when he first got it... oh he looked at it at 24:00 !!!

Why do I feel like it doesn't make the most tactical sense in the galaxy to sit there when an encounter starts and just let the enemy take shots at you while you make snarky comments and do literally nothing else? Game has a pause button... it's there for a reason.
