Amen to this. I had the confidence to play after watching a few play throughs since Im a horror game sissy.. but knowing what to expect with maybe a few new scaries gave me the confidence to play for myself. I hope you can find the funding because the demo was so fantastic.. even if I dont play it myself Id watch so many streamers play just because they never have the exact same experience. You've got a good thing going and I've seen the love of many people who have played through the demo. This is your golden child David, make the game you wanted to make, because ultimately the story, the music and the atmosphere is ultimately what everyone loves. @@jamesconlin5099 That's true, and I absolutely love him too! Such a great guy. But he's British, and the joke here was just that there's a meme amongst the Dutch called "Gekoloniseerd", which means colonized, basically. The Dutch used to colonize any location along their spice-gathering route that was convenient for them, so "gekoloniseerd" basically means "Dutchies were here!" It's a loving Dutch-language in-joke that I learned since coming to live in the Netherlands from the US. Gab and Insym are both Dutch, so that's the joke. The Dutch have left a strong mark on "We Harvest Shadows." ;)

The first time I saw this game was through watching other content creators like Insym. It has become one of the games I have been most excited for. I really enjoy how innovative it is, combining horror elements, farming, and a beautiful story together. The environment is also stunning, especially during the first day of chapter 2, it gave me goosebumps. Please make a Kickstarter or make the game pre-orderable in some way, I will happily support!

You should consider crowd funding the game, do what Paralives did and start something like a Patreon where you post updates about the game that you don't post anywhere else and people will pay like 1-5 bucks to access it, higher tiers can include shoutouts in the credits and other things like that. I remember playing the first tree Absolutely sobbing by the end of it, Writing an entire essay on the game for my game design college course Having it as a big inspiration for me and everything I do And then coming across the fact that YOU made we harvest shadows absolutely blew me away (I’m not good at remembering names so when I saw this pop up in my notifications was when I realised) So excited to see what kinda game this turns out to be!

I watched someone’s play through of your demo. I can’t say I understood what was going on but in the moment when the storm rolled in, bodies started disappearing, and Holy Shrine started playing was one of the most beautiful moments I’ve experienced in gaming.
