ABOUT ME: Hallo, Servus, and welcome to my channel! My name is Felicia (Feli), I'm 26, and I'm a German living in the USA! I was born and raised in Munich, Germany but have been living in Cincinnati, Ohio off and on since 2016. I first came here for an exchange semester during my undergrad at LMU Munich, then I returned for an internship, and then I got my master's degree in Cincinnati. I was lucky enough to win the Green Card lottery and have been a permanent resident since 2019! In my videos, I talk about cultural differences between America and Germany, things I like and dislike about living here, and other experiences that I have made during my time in the States. Let me know what YOU would like to hear about in the comments below. DANKE :)

One thing you probably heard before and you probably know already, but in case you don’t is that a lot of American men from all cultures happened to like women from other countries more because their personalities is different than the typical American woman. Meaning the mindset of the typical woman over here (not all) is that they have a very gassed up head meaning basically they think the world revolves around them. From personal experience I dated a Canadian girl, I dated a girl born and raised in Spain even a Mexican girl but one thing I could tell you is that once those women get too mixed up in American culture they usually become like the rest. Dating in the USA is more like going to a job interview lol Even intimate exchange 😱 lol. Thanks for all your videos. People like you and other European KZbinrs give us an insight on what you think about Of America, because most of us think we are hated. At least the people I talk too.

No American beer USED to be very light and bland. Then in the 80s the laws were changed in Oregon and the craft brewing revolution started. Now there are FAR more breweries in the Portland area than anywhere in Europe. And the variety is amazing. But Feli is right about the current trend in craft beer which is HOPS.

I was delighted to learn that you are from Bavaria. When I studied German at university, my teacher said, "If you want to sound like a native German, you must decide where you want to be from." I said, "Bavaria." Twenty years later, I was on the Mall in Washington, DC. I heard a German tourist say to his wife (in German) "If I don't find a toilet soon, I will explode." I mustered up my best German and told him how to find what he needed. Then, in pefect English, he said, "How long did you live in Bavaria?" I have never lived in Bavaria, but I had a renewed appreciation for my German teacher.

Fer SURE! SOMEtimes, you even sound a little TOO "American". I hate the "American" demonym because America is SUCH a big place and others deserve it as much or more than the normal run of ignorant US citizens do, IMO.. North America is one half occupied by Canada, the "more polite Americans". Then, South America is Ginormous and infinitely diverse; Central America is pretty big, and the Caribbean islands are great fun. Sadly, I've been overruled by just about the whole world, so will settle for feeling a little chauvinist when I use it.

Grüß gott, Felicia. Somehow the algorithm gods recommended your channel to me. What hooked me, aside from your lovely aura, was the fact that you are from München. I am a New Yorker that embarked on a 10 year quest to visit 100 countries and all 50 US states by the time I was 30. I started 2 months after my 20th Geburtstag, and began my travels in a small town called Xela, Guatemala to study Spanish. At the Spanish school I made 2 friends. A lovely girl named, Nadine, from Switzerland, and a gentleman from München, named Andre. We bonded and traveled throughout Central America together. I was going to be in Spain for a month, so when I arrived to Europe for the very first time, Andre told me to come on by to München. He was going on many job interviews with Siemens, Bosch, etc. and said to use the apt for as long I wanted. I lived on Pilgersheimer Straße; went on jogs in the evening; bought delicious bread every morning. This is when the Deutsche Marke was still around. Everything felt like it was half price for me. I really cherished my time there. Andre is now a Prof. Dr. in München, and I'm a biomedical engineer in Phoenix, Arizona. Looking to head back this autumn, as it will be 20 years since I've been in Bavaria. Anyways, hope you are well and wish you all the best. Auf Wiedersehen!

I was stationed in Wildflecken "West" Germany in the 70's while serving in the Army. I absolutely loved Germany. You're bringing back good memories. Southern Wisconsin, where I'm from, has a lot of German, Nordic and Slavic heritage that I came to understand more after living in Europe. I just came upon your posts and find them informative and fascinating. I have a neighbor from France , a good friend from Belgium, whose married to a Philopino girl, I've done work in Russia and Guatemala, my eldest son just married a girl from India, we had a woman from Sierria Leone who with her daughter lived with my wife and I, a while back, ...the world, truly is "smaller" than it once was. Especially with the internet. One of the things that amazed me about Europe is that going from say: Germany to Paris..., it was a totally different culture! Like going from Wisconsin to Iowa. But a different nationality. America truly is a blending pot that I took for granted. Thanks for being who you are and sharing your perspectives. And "Gudentag!"😉👍

Even if you only go for a week, it is worth it to have real german bread &beer, sausage, cheeses, the architecture, natural landscapes. I can almost guarantee you even eating tasty German food, you'll lose weight and feel so much better. Herring. My mom loved herring(from the north)

"Drunk and starving" was pretty much my default status on any weekend between the age of 15-23. It´s like completetly normal for young germans, especially from rural areas lol. A lot of awesome stories nonetheless so, there still could be a good one behind it.

Always remember my five years living in Deutschland fondly, especially living there during the height of the Cold War and the fall of the wall and reunification. Had a front row to history stationed in Wiesbaden with the US Air Force. Also have extended German family members who live about 20 clicks south of Mannheim in the state of Baden-Württemberg I would visit often.

Lol!!! I constantly talk about how amazed I am that you don't really have a discernible accent. I had to laugh when you close the video with "Cheers". Maybe it was the grin modifying your speech pattern, because your grin is not small, and large grins can change how you pronounce something. I need to think carefully, and review your "cheers". The vowel had something different. Your pronunciation was not hard to hear, as your pronunciation made perfect sense, but there was definitely something different. I don't know if your pronunciation was maybe a filtered area in Britain, or if it was a regional dialect from German... But the pronunciation of the "ee" was definitely different. Again, thank you for all of your interesting and revealing cultural content. Every video contains something that teaches me something that I didn't know or had never experienced before.

Thanks ever so much, Feli! As with so much on KZbin, I stumbled across your videos by accident - but they're really super (and well made), your personality is delightful and the topics are of great interest. In fact, I find the videos rather addictive! :o (I've experienced German-British and Polish-British differences, and was married to a German, at one time.) Tchuß!

It's enjoyable to hear about how American and German culture are simultaneously familiar yet dissimilar, and we all greatly appreciate your thoughts on such a breadth of subjects. Nice having you here and take care. Auf viedersehn!

There are few good Mexican restaurants in Berlin and Bonn, but they’re pricy. I was surprised of how cheap Mexican food is in America. My favorite cities in the states are, San Francisco, New York and Miami. Next time I visit, I’d like to see Houston, Dallas, Chicago and Boston. America is such a big country, two weeks vacation is not enough time to explore the entire country.
