I Applied for Luxembourg Citizenship!

I moved to Luxembourg in February 2013 and so, come February 2018, I could apply for Luxembourg citizenship. And so that's what dun!

Heather Elstermann buy the book alter ego has audio and everything you will learn French faster. Rosetta Stone is garbage. If you even have French teacher who knows how to teach with the book alter ego you will learn fast. You can even learn by yourself if you speak at least 2 languages because you gotta have experience to know how to reach yourself. For example my mother tongue is Persian but I learned German at institute also was easy for myself teaching myself French otherwise would be very hard. Good luck

Congratulations dude. You are cool. If there would have been no 1. world war I would have been American because my grandfather emigrated to USA in 1903. He only came back to a visit in 1914 before the war broke out, and he couls not go back to US because of the blockade of the North sea. So my father was born in LUX again and I am Luxembourger, but married to an American.

My daughter and I are flying over July 30th to drop off our paperwork for Dual citizenship. My mother did all of the hard work tracing our lineage back to the 1800's so we qualify. We are very excited for ourselves but mostly for our future generations that will be able to live in Luxembourg. Congratulations on your move and doing all the hard work of becoming a citizen.

I’m moving to Luxembourg soon as my wife has just got a job there, the plan is it stay at least 5 years and get citizenship and get our EU citizen rights back after the debacle that is Brexit. This is not the reason for moving but hopefully an added bonus.

Did you get the citizenship? I thought you needed to be living there for 20 years? (7 years if you were a minor, 5 years if you're the parent of a luxembourgish child)

I think you may be mixing Luxembourg up with Liechtenstein, which requires 30 years of continuous residence. Luxembourg only requires 5 years.
