I'm having a wobble about the NX500 and hankering after my old Royal Enfield Himalayan. No swearing in this one, I've given myself a proper good slap!

What are the tyres on your bike? The OE Dunlop Trailmax tyres that came on my 500X were brilliant on French back roads. I’m sure of that because that’s where it spends most of its time. They were also surprisingly good on gravel tracks and other loose surfaces. On good tarmac they are faultless. In 24,000 km of riding, a lot of it fairly quickly I can’t think of one occasion when the tyres have slipped on tarmac, not even in the wet. Ar3 you sure that this isn’t simply a case of a poor workman… If you’re talking about sliding on loose gravel on tarmac that’s definitely rider error, no tyre can compensate for that.

I think it’s the tyres, I’ve rode rural Brittany on various other bikes and they were fine. I’ve also rode the Himalayas and high mountain passes so I’m a reasonably experienced off road rider but no expert though. They are Dunlop tyres, not sure of the type.

I saw those tyres in action, there were a few rainy days and some of the lanes were a little muddy and those tyres were a liability

Might be a silly question but are you running the stock Dunlop tyres at the correct pressures? I have them on my CB500X & have to say they are brilliant.

I rode across Brittany on my royal Enfield 500 classic which worked very well, I had canned heat going up country in my head ,it's wonderful over there.

i see the Rocky Theme is now a theme lol oh and the Levellers..and Greenday! lol What tyres are they on the NX as standard? Dont be to hasty getting rid of the NX...

I see they allow car parking on the pavement in France. Totally different here in Britain, as you run the risk of a ticket.

What could you buy that offers all the Honda offers, is lighter and in the same price range? That bike does not exist.

you have to take into account what the lady in question has been through and suffered and what mark it has left on her, its not the right bike for her at this point as I have watched her struggle with it, regardless of that I have had the same bike in the form of a 2022 CB500X which I had stolen last year, I didn't replace it as it had no character and was bland, yes it did most things really well but for me it had no soul

If your finding the NX a bit on the heavy side then check out the up & coming to the UK CF Moto 450 MT, like your old CRF it’s more bias to off road.

I didnt enjoy the French roads we were on when commin from spain..someone said the best roads are more nothern..

I agree with that, I rode from Spain via Morocco a few years ago, didn’t enjoy riding the long dusty plains, a bit like the Wild West lol !

No farm track has right of way over a metalled road. At a PàD junction only traffic coming from your right has the right of way over you, I don’t understand what you meant by they both have right of way. Both?

Not been watching this channel long but i must say i like how down to earth you are. Your not got summat stuck up your ass, apart from a bike lol. Brittany does look lovely. Hope you have a lovely time.
