I Asked 10 Experienced Gardeners This Question

I got serious about gardening a year ago. Although I have had gardens in the past, once we put a pool in and I had a blank canvas I got excited. Although I have learned a lot this past year, I have always wondered "why does everyone's garden on youtube and Instagram look so amazing?" Is everyone else a professional gardener? WHAT THE HECK!
So that got me thinking. If you asked a professional (or even an experienced) gardener to give you that one golden nugget. That one piece of advice that would make your garden go from drab to fab, then what would that be?
So here are ten gardener's responses to the questions "Hey experienced gardeners if you had to give your singular best advice, what would that be?
There were a lot of awesome answers, but one of them truly hit home. I was previously on the fence about doing a full garden tour. I kept asking myself, is my garden ready to show to the public? Are people going to see the flaws that I do? What if I love my garden more than you? People can be awful online.....ya know?
Well, one of these answers made me say HECK YEAH, let's do this! So, in the next couple of weeks, I will be posting my first garden tour. Hopefully, you will consider subscribing or checking it out?

I’ve been gardening for over 30+ years and had many hits and MANY misses. For my advice I would say read the tags the plant came with or google it. Plant in your zone…know what your zone is. Work on your soil. Plant companies. Stake early. I like to prevent bugs by protecting them in the Spring with Ferti-Lome tree and shrub drench…AMAZING! Rose shield is also great. Nothing is worse then going to battle against a bug when it’s you battling 1000+. Clip any fungus right away. Wash your tools between plants. Fertilize at the right time with the right dose. Love Holly tone and others in that line. Keep your receipts. Many plants have a one-year warranty. David Austin has a five year warranty on their roses. I like to mix in veggies;), strawberries, blackberries. Get your trees, bushes, evergreens in first and plant away from your house. Some smaller shrubs okay. Make sure tree limbs don’t touch your house, you don’t want uninvited critter guests! Plant with size in mind and airflow is very important. See where your air flow comes in along with the sun. Keep your garden clean. Trim more then you think and I love sharp clean edges. Buy what you like that sings to you and buy in pairs or three’s. Don’t over plant, you don’t want to get overwhelmed. Be carful what you bring in your garden. That neighbor’s clump of flowers may have bugs, fungus, disease or even cooties 😱. You can wash the entire plant/roots with soap and a drop of bleach. I try to weed even if it’s a square foot whenever I can. Collect seeds in paper not plastic bags. Buy good tools and take care of them. Move a plant if it’s not happy. Keep your tags so you know what you have and most of all enjoy your garden today. What you don’t get done there is always tomorrow ❤ I also love to buy plants, shrub, rose, trees to celebrate important times in my life. A pair of anniversary trees, birthday roses, something special when your babies are born. It makes YOUR garden special and you remember a magical time in your life whenever you see that plant:) Sorry so long…I just love gardening and wish I had a few of these tips when I was starting out❤❤❤ 6:50
