Off topic but there are many people who misunderstand the dual (or multiple) citizenship system in Korea, so I am providing accurate information as follows. 1. When a foreigner is naturalized in Korea (if he or she has passed the test) 1) If your home country allows dual citizenship (eg, the Philippines), and you want to keep your hometown citizenship, if you sign a waiver of rights as a foreigner in Korea, Korea issues Korean citizenship. It means "in Korea, you have only the rights of being a Korean". This is how the dual citizenship system in most countries works. 2) If your home country does not allow dual citizenship (eg, China, Japan), the Korean government will issue Korean citizenship only after you give up your hometown country citizenship. As long as I know, Majority of Chinese and Japanese people keep their hometown citizenship after marriage. % The Korean government does not grant Korean citizenship just because you are married to a Korean, and you have to pass a fairly difficult test and the process takes a long time. 2. If you are born dual citizenship due to parental or other reasons; In the case of men, due to military problems, in the past, they had to choose their nationality until they reached 18, but now they allow dual citizenship as a condition of serving in the military. % In the past, a famous singer gave up Korean citizenship before enlisting in the military and fled to the United States, which caused a big social problem, and he is still banned from entering Korea.

If you assume the government wants people to enter then yes, they should improve. But if the government really doesn't want people to return then they're providing exactly the service needed for that goal. Just saying "citizens can't return" would be politically problematic. But making it so difficult people give up...well that's just the "Filipino culture". The government has used this tactic for many years. Services are provided to people in charge while denying services to people not connected. I tend to believe actions rather than words. It would obviously be easy for the government to make this all very easy, but they don't. There must be some reason for this.

The problem when I applied is that the system didn't send me my application form and receipt even if I paid already. What I did was I sent a message to the branch my appointment was scheduled. They helped me to pass my concern to the main system. I got my requirements a day after my SUPPOSED appointment date. I sent another email to the branch and told me I can go 3 weeks after my appointment date. I was able to come in a Tuesday and there's not a lot of people. They even wrote on my documents "Wasn't able to come at the correct schedule due to system" Tips for getting an appointment: Check on Thursday Night (Philippine Time) and make sure to be fast in typing because the slot you got might be grabbed by another person. This chaotic system has always been a hassle to everyone and I mean everyone, resulting in some people doing inside jobs or inside connections which makes the process worse because they get to cut in the lines. The system needs modernization. I got my passport renewal schedule in just 1 week, but I was monitoring the site everyday for a week in the early hours of the morning and when a slot opened up, I grabbed it quickly. I got lucky but it's still very frustrating.

@konsolebox3 жыл бұрын
@@jfajardo0305 While that thing about lack of manpower may be true I think it's the lack of modern programming discipline that majorly affects the quality of software being built for government services. The error shown here is just an example. Here a global error handler seems to be the only one that takes care of the error and shows the general error to the user, but doesn't say if the transaction has been discarded or unsubmitted. Should the user try again? Has the application been successful and saved to the database but the mailer just failed to send the notification? Did it revert that the application won't become duplicate if the user tries again? Every piece of issue that may occur should have its own handler regardless of the likelihood of its occurrence. Neglecting to install and design proper error handling and logging management is something old school programmers often do simply because to them it only makes the code "complicated", but keeping runtime consistency is really something that shouldn't be compromised no matter what the price. Old school people should move away from monolithic oriented programming approach and embrace newer approaches like MVC (and its variants), a combination of object, component, and event-driven programming, and a sensible DRY (don't repeat yourself) approach. Monolithic programming approach is forgivable if you're writing scripts but it's different when writing applications because you have to avoid redundancy for simplicity's sake and centralized fixing of bugs while also avoiding oversimplification of runtime. It's also recommended to make applications test driven and have strict production and development stages. A source code writing standard should also be implemented and strictly followed. Having a code repository with formal commit messages and moderated branches is also a plus. I recommend anyone starting new web based applications look into having the backend purely run as an API service with no client side rendering but allow other client-side javascript based frameworks to handle it. It's a good start since it allows the application to be easier to expand both in features and the interfaces, and keeps the functionality of the service transparent and clean. It's also easier to write test scripts with it. Many of its transactions can be carried by sessions that will be staged to draft making stages and a finalization stage. Speaking of event-driven programming approach by the way, learning to use async-await should now be mandatory.

I renewed mine on Sept 08 and because of an error in my application, I have been waiting for more than 2 months for my passport with no clear date on when I will get mine. Some cannot even renew. Those who renewed, and have errors, cannot check it on the DFA website. You cannot even talk or call the DFA, you're lucky to get a reply if they reply at all. If they do reply, WAIT, is the common theme and tone.

This is also same for Filipinos living in the country who wants to renew the passport. It's hard to make an appointment. But the trick is to check the website at the afternoon every Monday, because they update during that time.

I rarely run into any website implemented correctly except for websites selling things like Amazon, EBay, etc... The more complex the website the more likely something will not be implemented correctly. As a software engineer I find it extra frustrating. There has to be some incentive for a government to want people to come in for them to make it easier, or possible. The message is very clear that the Philippines government does not want anyone coming into the country. They can't just say "even citizens aren't allowed", but they can make it very hard. This is just how the world works.

Madali lng nmn renewal. Ng passport sa regional office . Set ka lang Ng schedule Ng renewal tapos bigyan k Ng date para bumalik para claim ung Bago. Inaplay ko pa sa cp lang sa website .

Hi Mr Bulbul. Please book that appointment. After that, call the embassy and ask for expedited appointment - usually visiting a terminally ill family member or attending a funeral will do. They will schedule you an earlier appointment.

sadly, i am not surprised and you are the proper person to give another perspective of the incompetence and impotence of dealing with philippine bureauracy.

Philippines has very slow bureaucracy, as well as the security issues. If I'm not mistaken, they were hacked again or some kind of leak.. I'm here in America, it was about 1 month ago. The news stated here, hackers have reserved all appointments creating backlogs for next 6 months for American passports.. Seems like something strange is going on.. Or maybe it's extra precautions to prevent covid spread without telling public..

Sometimes a complaint needs to become viral just to get the government to fix it. It only shows the government is very lazy and they will only start working if they already face public embarrassment. You did the right thing posting this video. I hope the embassy learn from this.

If you moved to North Korea first then you could go to the Philippines cause NK is n the green list but if you do that then you’ll have other problems to deal with and may not be able to leave. So you better consider the Next step first before doing anything drastic, only do that as last alternative ! . North Korea not a very good option !

I have the same problem in Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, I tried to make online appointment but their system don't work. I tried contacting the line but nobody take the call. I've search for email and I found, I've sent an email and mentioned to raise the concern to Presidential Complain Center the I received a reply with instructions. Next day they announced all passport renewals no longer done in Embassy but to a private company.

I'm half Korean and half Filipino, I'm a dual citizen as well. When I renewed my Korean passport, it took me about an hour to get the whole thing done (would've been quicker if I knew how to read and write Korean), I've been living in the Philippines all my life and I still don't have a Filipino passport.

I swear, their overall system needs an update ASAP, especially now that there are a lot of OFWs that want to work abroad or return home and with the current global problem a lot of foreign nationals also want to be kept updated on how to get in or get out of the country. I seriously wonder why they can't do that when in fact, one of the major contributors on the country's economy are the OFWs and tourism.

I'm OFW the experience is the same, the service sucks the appointment system.... sigh! we need to apply for leave and waste 1 day for the process.

Me and my family has the same problem today...Embassy does not want to give them visa even they are my husband and child...I have to register our marriage and my child's birth to Phil embassy before they can issue the visa to them...which will take 2-3 mos...registering also is pain in the ass because of the requirements.

One of the many things that are so frustrating in our country. Its like slow, unresponsive, and inefficient service is expected when dealing with anything government related. Almost like a given fact that everyone just accepts and lives with. There are so many thing to love about my country but there are also a lot that needs to be improved

We cannot also get a new passport , nor renew it online ... My family has been trying a thousand of times .. it's such a pain ! But for some reason , some Filipinos are able to get a passport or visa through some agencies , of course they charge more .. I don't know how they're able to process it but just try . Just make sure that that agency is legit , or official or certified by the government .

In Los Angeles, California Philippine Consulate. When the USPostal Service raised its prices by $0.80 cents or so, the Consulate decided not to mail back notarized documents, passports to Filipino until they received the $0.80 cents. "If you haven't received your documents, please mail $0.80 cents so we can release your documents".
