The “cake” in the banana pudding is actually Nilla Wafers which is like a crispy cookie so it won’t be soft like cake. They do get soft when they’ve soaked up some of the liquid from the pudding. Banana pudding is my most favorite dessert. I love your videos!

22:52 OMG YES!!! 😂 I call them my “craving modes”. I have Crohn’s disease so I have weird cravings that last anywhere from like a week to months on end. I can only eat what I’m craving and if I try to eat anything else it will make me sick to my stomach. And I fully believe that you should listen to and go with your cravings as your body is telling me you that it needs that specific food and it’s for a reason. I just finished a crunchy Cheetos stint of about 2 months and now I’m craving toast with butter and peanut butter. Which is odd as I don’t often eat bread. But this is the first time I’ve heard anyone else talk about this happening other than myself and my son. (He takes after his mama) Ok, done babbling….just wanted to share that I too have different food “eras” or craving modes. ✌🏻💕😊

Banana pudding is usually made with a banana flavored pudding/custard, Vanilla wafer COOKIES (NOT cake!), whipped cream and fresh bananas. The pudding should soften the semi-firm cookies, and should sit in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours. I don't like super soft cookies, so test it until the consistency is right for you (if you decide to make it).

Oh and here’s your copycat recipe. Well, easy mode ;) Box of vanilla jello pudding Follow instructions on box using whole milk, cold Fresh bananas Nilla wafers (cookie aisle at wal mart) Cool whip Mix the cool whip into the pudding once it gels, then mix in sliced nanas. Then you can either serve it in a tray with nilla wafers spread underneath or chop them and mix them in too :) In the south it’s nana puddin’ cause apparently we hate finishing our words lol.

33:28 there’s no cake in banana pudding. It is actually cookies (biscuits) like tiramisu…but in the banana pudding it’s a cookie called ‘Nilla Wafers. They are a very crispy cookie, so when you put them into the pudding it softens them up a little bit…but they shouldn’t be soggy. It’s kinda an American style tiramisu…but instead of Lady Finger’s and coffee it’s ‘Nilla Wafers and banana. I bet if you try it again knowing that it’s cookies and not cake it will taste better to you. Remember, half of what you taste is what your brain is expecting even before you bite into something. That’s why you react differently to a drink that is mis-poured. *when you order a rootbeer but they give you a coke..you take a sip and you know something is wrong because you still taste rootbeer, but then that taste doesn’t remain* It’s because your brain is expecting rootbeer. With this pudding your brain was expecting cake so it tasted of stale cake due to the texture. So…go ahead and try it again…this time expecting that it’s crispy cookies used in the recipe. ✌🏻💕😊 I promise that is my last comment. 😂

Was that a slice of the crab pizza (you mentioned when reading the menu) in the box with the artichoke one, that you ate outside? If so, was it good? I have to know because I'm eating vicariously through you. 🤣

It was in the box next to the artichoke slice. I had seafood pizza for the first time in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Mind blowing how well seafood works on pizza, until you realize it would be the same ingredients if you ordered a pasta dish. I don’t understand why we don’t do it more often here in the US. I see some white pizzas with clams, but that’s just meh.
