@@Charlzton Don’t make excuses for them to still eat like they’re in World War II… They conquered the whole world to get spices and when they realized African and ethnic people use spices heavily, they reworked their whole narrative to say that spices were used to cover up flavors for cheap meat and pushed those expensive spices on to the public.

@@SHAMOYA Spices have always been extensively used by the rich. If you actually look back at history spices such as clove, nutmeg, all spice and saffron are all used in the aristocracies food. You realise that there are many many Indians in the UK, many of whom have become very successful (and well integrated) here in many fields, and many that make very good money through the Indian food industry, which we Brits also love and appreciate as much as our own food. Colonisation is long finished, India is a world power and is responsible for its own successes and failures. Finally, chicken tikka masala is a version of butter chicken invented by British Indians in the UK.

1)You seriously think this is what the royal family eat?… 2) Also do you seriously think the average person in the UK eats the same food as the royal family? Lmao. Anyway regardless. There are a lot of cuisines (Italian, French, British) that are more herb driven traditionally in some of their core dishes, than spice driven. The world is a varied place and has varied cuisines. There is really no need to look down your nose at other people, other cultures and other countries, because they are different to you. It’s an ugly trait.

If saag aloo or tarka dhal was a main component rather than an accompaniment, we’d probably call those ‘curry’ too
