The avoidance of garlic makes sense for a couple of reasons. One, the Queen just simply might not like the taste or texture of it, which is common because it can be overpowering. Also, think of all the people she and the other royals have to meet and speak to on a daily basis. The last thing they’d want or need is to have garlic breath. I’m guessing those reasons are why onions are to be used in strict moderation too.

Hmmm not all British foods are bland. We love our herbs. Garlic, rosemary, Parsley and sage. We also love lots of salt. Guaranteed not healthy but still Queen Elizabeth, as a great granddaughter of Queen Victoria, was brought up to believe in simple living. Queen Victoria's upbringing was very lavish but when she became queen and could choose the way she lived she veered in the opposite direction, preferring simple food and simple clothes. She brought her children up this way and they brought their children up this way too. Not only that but Queen Elizabeth was a young woman in the war years and as food was scarce, she learned to live with it.

Lanson is amazing champagne. I had attended a wine taste earlier in the day before heading for an art exhibit in the evening. I was ill from crappy champagne being shopped at the tasting and thought I`d pass on refreshment that night. But for some reason I decided to try a glass as they were serving Lanson. My G-d, what champagne! Dry, refreshing. Doesn`t back up so no inebriation or hangover. If I ever win the Pools, it`s a bottle once a week. Oh yes! The Queen knows how to live. In moderation but moderated by the right variables.

Whatever her diet, the Queen's life of service should remind everyone of the huge, tangible power for peace and stability the British monarchy is for everyone in Britain, the commonwealth and for the world. In the 19th & 20th centuries the U.S.A, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Greece suffered in various ways civil wars, political storms, and dictatorships. This shows what can go wrong in the absence of a head of state which is above politics, which opposes illegal dictatorship and helps keep the peace. If there are many reasons England, Wales, Scotland, Canada and Australia have had no civil war since Culloden in 1746, having a constitutional monarchy is an important one. Of course the Queen & Prince Philip had their failings as parents, and Prince Philip could be tactless. Whatever mistakes the royal family have made, let us be grateful for the service they give, and the difference the monarchy makes for the better, in everybody's lives.

I was shocked at how similar our food preferences are . There's few differences tho like I don't care for cereal much but i do love special k, i really love garlic and onions, and i am a big fan of starches . Other than that, we eat quite similar 🙀
