To open a can with a knife: You just stab once at the edge of the lid. (the sharper and heavier your knife is the easier the can will open) and saw up and down around the lid separates from the can. If you need to drain the can first: 1. you can cut a small triangle pointing downwards on the side of the lid closest to you. 2. Poke a small hole above the triangle on the other side of the lid. (The liquid's you're trying to drain, will stay in the can if you ignore this step)
