for vietnamese pho: If you see a dark thick sweet sauce (hoisin sauce), PUT IT INTO YOUR SOUP, like at least a table spoon full. Squeeze lime into it as well! and sriracha if you want to. (south vietnamese pho uses hoisin sauce as a finishing garnish where customers are supposed to put it in themselves to their tastes while northern pho uses it too, altho it's perfectly normal to not use it as well). BUT SIS THANK YOU FOR LOVING MY HOMELAND'S CUISINE

Bánh mì is made using rice flour, that's why it's sweeter than the baguette even though we don't use sugar. Rice flour also makes it lighter and fluffier. Vietnamese spring rolls are made by putting the RAW fillings (meat + carrot + mushroom + vermicelli noodles + fish sauce) inside a rice paper then deep fry. Chinese spring rolls are made by STIR FRY the fillings first (their fillings have a few more kind of vegs and no fish sauce, just soy sauce) before rolled inside a wheat wrapper then deep fry, that's why its flavour is more messy and greasy, while Vietnamese ones taste cleaner due to simpler ingredients. The fish sauce is what gives it the deep flavour that soy sauce cannot.

That looks like the beef pho I buy in Falls Church Virginia when I'm in that neighborhood. FIRE REAL Pho broth is cooked for house, it is a bone broth and then strained several times in order for it to be free of pieces of marrow and other unpleasant looking things in the broth. It should be translucent.
