I attempted a Hivemind in Rimworld using Puppets (The Scarlet Switch #1)

Say hello to the Scarlet Switch, a telepath who was shunned for the scary nature of her powers. Now she wants to puppeteer "willing" people, starting her own hivemind, and making it a perfect paradise in Rimworld.

13:32 Yep, it is. Because brain damage lowers consciousness by looking at what percent of the brain is missing then subtracting that percent from the consciousness stat. So if the brain lost 50% of it's health there is a -50% modifier to consciousness. Now, anything else that also lowers consciousness by subtracting a certain percent instead of multiplying. (-20% instead of x80% for instance) that isn't usually deadly like minor malnutrition, minor blood loss or even getting high on smokeleaf can cause consciousness to drop to 0% which kills instantly. So if a pawn has 10% consciousness because 90% of their brain was destroyed. Any condition that drops consciousness by just 10% will kill them because 10 minus 10 is of course 0, but if the condition is instead multiplicative, and multiplies consciousness by 90% (which if the pawn had 100% consciousness like normal, would do the exact same thing a -10%) the pawn will be left with 9% consciousness and live. 14:08 Brain Leech lowers consciousness too, but it won't cause them to die unless their consciousness is lowered by something else aswell. It was the double whammy of brain damage and leech that killed them. It should be safe to use on non braindead, non starving, non high, blood filled pawns. Also 13:41 brain damage from any source causes permanent scarring. There is no nonscarring wound for brains. Brain damage suuuuucks because if someone is bleeding it'll say 10 or 20 or whatever hours until death but since only minor blood loss will kill someone with bad brain damage instead of extreme bloodless, they will actually die much sooner, but you are not told that. You get no warning whatsoever, no medical emergency alert (since the blood loss isn't extreme) they just die. It's infuriating. The fact that there is no letter for permanent brain damage is so frustrating because someone could be downed, and you just quicky check on their bleed out timer and don't notice they got brain damage, see they will be fine for hours, and the doctor can focus on more urgent cases then bam! Dead! No warning. Can you tell this has happened to me multiple times and I'm still salty about it? I typically don't bother with the Humanoid Alien Races and it's associated mods because most of them usually devolve to "sexy female waifu with cat ears or dog tails or bee parts" type of mods, but I'll take a look at an actual Insectoid race mod, thanks!

Imagine if they made a race that is like the aliens which uses facehuggers and have large guards who protect the hive. And a queen which lays eggs and if she dies the, entire colony dies too.

Mantodeans are the opposite of a waifu race though, they look kind of like bipedal megaspiders (well, I say "bipedal" but technically they've got 4 legs, you just can't tell since rw sprites don't generally have legs). There's probably someone out there who thinks they're sexy, but they're designed to take a cool idea (vanilla insectoids but sapient and semi-civilized) and run with it. Anyway, I second the recommendation. It's my favorite race/xenotype mod tbh.
