Maybe it wasn't my own original idea (as I outlined in my prior comment to you, but you just can't read apparently) but it was my post on reddit with the nuzlocke ruleset that I outlined (With input from the P101 reddit community, mind you) that was originally used by Zeritt, and changed a little bit over time. Some of the same wording and phrasing is in it even, and you can see that. Maybe if you took 2 seconds out of your day to read at anything other than a 3rd grade level, you'd be able to comprehend that. Have the day you deserve.

As a Pirate 101 veteran, this was great to see! I really loved the idea and how you did it. I main swash as well, and witchdoctor (which honestly is probably a better one to go for late game if you do this again. My words of advice to you though, Marlybone+ gets harder, and Valencia 2 is insane (like you WILL lose a companion per fight in the starting fights there). Giving stat buffs to your companions increases their likelihood of triggering relentless/mojo echo/burst fire. Also, if you really need to, consider allowing the purchase of Crown Shop companions as a rule. Even if you aren't farming dungeons to unlock Gortez or Eep-Ook-Ahh as companions, Fin can be a good one to have, along with the other companion doppelgangers you don't get normally (but they ARE weaker than the main story ones you get since they weren't updated w/ the main ones). Privateer, musketeer hybrid could be good to, since their buffs make them a terror to fight against (one grant increases crit chance, and focus fire, plus multiple gunnerys will help out with those pesky back objectives).

Never played, so this is a genuine question. Doesn't repel boarders effectively just mean it's a free attack to initate the fight? If you wait for them to come attack you, isn't that also just giving them a free attack to start the fight? What's the difference?

@@moonblaze2713so yes repel is if you come next to them they attack. The reason why you should wait is because they have blade storm and/or relentless giving them an extra attack So if they go to attack one turn, they get only one hit (maybe 2) But if you go hit they get a repel hit (1) perhaps a relent/blade storm (giving 1/2 extra hits) And then when it’s their turn to hit that round, they can get one last hit (3-4 in total) So overall going to hit someone with repel will lead to your character getting 1-2 more unnecessary extra hits which is especially bad for swashbuckling characters as they have low health Also another reason is that you want all your characters near each other so the enemy ai evenly spreads out the damage. In this guys case he sent 1-2 squishy guys up front alone to the scorpion so a lot of the damage was highly focused onto them That’s why they both died, they were upfront alone taking unnecessary repel hits and had all the hits/dmg from the scorpions focused onto them since the other 2 characters were out of range. That and if you consider the fact that the rat and horse are low hp characters basically meant they were guaranteed to die Hope I cleared things up!

Pirate 101 is the game I hold both the most nostalgia and hatred for. I love the story and the world building, I love the Fire Emblem lite playstyle, put Kingsisle really doesn’t deserve the game with the way they treat it and the infrequency of its updates/expansions. @@ThatMFingG Old Scratch has powers that provide massive buffs to spell power. Swashbuckler has AOE poison abilities whose damage are boosted by spell power. Using those poison abilities also does not break invisibility. So you can boost your spell power with Scratch, and then spam buffed poisons on enemies while running away or being invisible, then finish off the weakened enemies after they take a lot of poison damage.

This strategy only becomes truly great in later game, though; Scratch requires a couple promotions to really have broken spell power buffs, and Swashbuckler doesn't get an AOE invisibility power until late game. So I'm not sure how strong this approach would actually be in the Nuzlocke.

Love to see the pirate101 love! I’m not sure if you’ve still been playing, but swash is actually a god send for a nuzlocke. You made the right call by making it a hybrid musket but where you went wrong was 1) stealth 2) epics 3) Damage reduction moves. With your very strong sniper abilities you should’ve tried to get double tap. It would add more consistent damage instead of rng on relentless and burst. Stealth is actually very powerful if used correctly. You can use assassins mist and not break stealth. You can buff yourself while not getting targeted and you can simply take your time with turns. One specific thing I saw you do is skip krakens lament. That’s gives 25% DR. That would have been extremely clutch in a lot of situations for you.

Idk if people have mentioned this, but privateer is probably the best one for a nuzlocke. It isn’t just a support, as in my experience they can be very big threats in melee combat and all the buffs you give your party also apply to you. But their mainly the best because they get access to more companions than the rest of the classes

I loved this game to death when I was younger. Played it religiously during the covid pandemic with a Witchdoctor named Celine (iirc? It was a C name), my story for her was that she was like, a selkie and the Armada had stolen her seal coat so she couldn't shapeshift any more, and she was on a crusade to get it back. Average selkie behavior I only got as far as the skull island interlude in Cool Ranch, but I remember being overleveled for a lot of the game portions because I did every single sidequest that was available to me, every single one. I wouldn't move on to the next world until I was sure I had cleared all available sidequests up to that point. I remember using crowns on a pack in the crown shop that would randomly give you gear n such, and I pulled a mid/late game weapon during early skull island, so for the entirety of the run I was just using that, didn't even need to think about any of the other weapons I got from battles (It was a Krokotopia staff, I remember) Anyway, this game has a special place in my heart. I tried playing it on my current laptop back in december 2023 but it was running on like, 5 fps rip.

The sting tails are actually crazy hard for no reason. On one of my swash characters I died probably 7 times to the fight and ended up doing a team up for the fight. The problem with the sting tails is that damage on them is capped so even if you are a lvl 70 you still do damage like if you were lvl 25
