What's the purpose of jumping into the cannon on Waluigi Pinball instead of going off normally and/or tricking?

Cannons have a capped speed that tops out when the glider comes out. So, tricking delays that deployment a bit, so it's a tad slower, going normally is faster but hopping means you activate in the top of the ramp so you're farther ahead when you reach top speed It's overall like .2-.3 seconds faster so decent for time trial time save and can put you ahead of people with a bad cannon enter in races
