I find bagging to be the best idea at the beginning or middle of a race because if you try to frontrun, you can get blued at the line and you’re screwed but when you bag, you get strong items into top spots and can item smuggle too and this is another classic

10:45 if you wanna bag properly, you should chain the star to get another box on this first set. Also you should make use of bagging during lap 1 and in the first half of lap 2 if needed as well. You can't always just rely on bagging at only the first set.

Something of note in mario kart 8 deluxe is that items are distance oriented not placement oriented. So if you're in last but really close to first you will pull some very mid items, but if you're in second and far away you will pull some power items.

Bagging Strat vs Front Running Start I like Smuggling Strat I think a hybrid between different strats is the best way to go being well-rounded against the "luck & unpredictability" while it gives the best of both worlds there isnt any major cons but the pros usually stronger in most situations oh yeah it also depends on the vehicle too etc, so Bag Strat vs Front Running strat the real question is the Smuggling Strat now! I like doing a hybrid of all the strategies that are the best gameplan in most games including mario kart if yeah understand Hah!

Honestly, it depends on the map and how you race it. Each race is very different, even on the same map, and you have to adapt on the fly. If you front run, you get hit, and made you go to the back, you have to sandbag. If you sandbag and make your way to the front, you have to front run at that point. You can't just do one strategy in a race. Obviously, some maps are more designed for either front running or sandbagging, but for the most part, doing one strat over the other will not make you a great driver in this game. Adapting to what the race throws at you is what makes a great driver in Mario Kart.

Try Larry in the Koopa Clown, with the Azure rollers (Either works, but as many people have said, matching colors grants a speed boost), and the Hylian Kite. Please consider using this.
