I’m a Christian, and I absolutely love “Above All”. It genuinely brought tears to my eyes to hear Joel singing this beautiful song. Even if he doesn’t believe what he’s singing, it touches my heart. Gonna have to go listen to that song now!

Well, a lot of Christians, (me included) take the view that Him Upstairs gave us a sense of humour, and taking the Michael a bit is acceptable, as long as you keep it serious in your heart. So I guess Roomie might still be a bit Christian (like me), or possibly a "Believes in God, but not much else". There, non-rant rant over!

@@robertwilloughby8050 Hi! Thanks for your comment. I guess I’m confused as to what you mean by “a bit Christian”. I mean, either Jesus is the Savior and Lord of a person’s life or He’s not. There’s not really an in between. It was Jesus who said “Whoever is not with me is against me…” (Matt 12:30). Perhaps you are referring to nominal Christians, who are people who call themselves Christians but don’t actually live in a way that seeks to glorify God. And yes, I’d agree that God gives us a sense of humor, but I’d also agree that you have to be careful in your heart about what jokes you make, and see if they honor God or mock Him. It’s kind of like how you make sure you speak to your parents respectfully. They love and care about you, but they also want a level of respect from you, and you should be mindful of what you say to them. I’m not here to judge anyone, but Joel’s tone just seemed rather mocking to me, which doesn’t suggest respect for God. There’s my little “rant”! Have a lovely day :)

I remember being about 9 years old when i first heard "Above all" playing around 03AM coz my uncle liked leaving the radio on all night. First time in heard the line, "Like a rose, trampled on the ground..." i felt goosebumps, iv loved the song since then and will love it FOREVER!!!! 😁😁😁

I don't know about August, but Jonas lives in the UK, not Sweden. And Joel has said that he's not going to live in Sweden again and I believe just renewed is Visa. So, I don't think that's happening :/

A bit off pitch and too hyped up, sure, but he's got such a good voice that it doesn't really matter. I hope he's not too embarrassed about it bc it's a pretty cool and funny story.

Every time we learn more about Joel it's scary how similar our tastes are (er, not the Christian song lol), I saw Gavin in a tiny bar in London around the time of Chariot and he was AMAZING. One of the best shows I've ever been to. I went with someone who is now a singer-songwriter/full time (proper professional) producer and he still talks about it to this day.
