Cooking and baking ain't the same. Anyone can cook, you can literally just improvise and make shit up on the fly, no recipe required. If you know what your palet likes, you can make yourself a tasty meal. Baking definitely has more of a science and method to it. You try deviating away from a recipe and the final product can be ruined. There's a reason chefs are chefs and bakers are bakers (2 different jobs).

I used to be a pastry chef. Mans speaking facts when you look at baking at its core. Nothing but science, with the right instructions being followed you CANT fail. Developing new recipes can be frustrating, but once you have gotten your product to the point you want it, all you have to do is follow the exact same method to get the exact same result. Not sure why people would want to "humble" him by trying to have him make something "difficult". Literally anyone can make anything if they follow the instructions and that goes for everything food related. "But then why does this persons "x" taste better than this persons?" Because they didnt follow the same recipe exactly the same way.

Because what he does is rage-bait. He makes half-decent pastries, waits for people to comment on it on how he did it wrong, and watches the numbers rise as he refuses to undo his mistakes so people get even angrier. Very simple tactic. Very widespread. He uses it a lot throughout his channel.
@shezik19697 ай бұрын
@@christopherearth9714 in other words, because people are just oversensitive? Like, "rage bait" or not, nobody should be getting pressed about him making anything and saying its easy, regardless of wether or not it was done "properly". If he fucked something up, laugh and move on, if he executed it flawlessly, appreciate the aesthetic food and move on.
@christopherearth97146 ай бұрын
@watashinoai123456789 That's true, but the point is that he does it intentionally. He does it on purpose to build an image of an absurd ego that can possibly be toppled over since, obviously, people hate egomaniacs, so they try to disprove him and accidentally feed him money through interaction bias (algorithm stuff, I barely get it either). It's useless, though, since he doesn't respond to any negative comments nor try to fix it because that would be admitting defeat; and that would lower interaction bias. I understand why people react that way, though. It's like watching someone fuck up your profession while grinning about why he's doing it right and (albeit indirectly) stating that you have no idea what you're doing since you disagree with him. I know I essentially regurgitated what I first said, but I figured I'd try to clear up some of my reasoning. Personally, I don't think it's his fault, though. It's more of a flaw of how the algorithm works; prioritizing interaction from viewers over all else (from my knowledge). It's working for him, and he has no reason to stop. It's annoying for me, personally, as he seems to pop up frequently on my 'Recommended,' but maybe I'm a snowflake too. idk man

@@shezik1969the point of rage bait is to get those couple of people that won’t move on to argue by commenting and engaging on the video. It doesn’t really matter if he doesn’t get all the viewers to stay he just wants a couple of hate watchers.

This video highlights the importance of high fat butter in croissant making. The butter he used is 85% fat butter. Normally, high end butters are in the 82% to 84% range. Regular supermarket butter is 80%. So you have to use high fat butter (at least 82%) because it is much more pliable. If you use the regular stuff, the results won't be as good because there is greater chance the butter breaks, and it won't be as easy because you will need to pay very close attention to the temperature of the butter and the dough.
