I Bashed Shady Rays online then this happened

Mine was $16 replacement, and I did the mystery pair deal for another $15. DON'T FALL FOR THE MYSTERY PAIR SCAM! I thought I'd try it, got the cheapest biggest piece of junk pair of shades ever! they appear to be $5 gas station junk!

Like soo many other products, if you leave them in a sweltering car, they are going to melt, degrade or malfunction!!! I bought a pair two years ago and it was stolen out if my shopping cart 6 months ago. Replaced with a minimum fee. The replacement pair got scratched and again replaced. I do not leave them in the car! They might not be the best pair of sunglasses I have ever owned but, they are worth it as far as I'm concerned! I have owned $100.00 plus sunglasses in my life and never had a replacement guarantee like this company. Plus they give money to many charities including feeding the hungry! Can't go wrong with that!!!!

...on my pairs the mirror finish came off...they wanted a $14.95 processing fee....not worth it...junk...I. could have bought a pair of Oakleys for all the money I spent...

the "Pro" lense is polycarbonate, also they claim the lenses should not peel with salt water. they should have been submitted as a manufactures defect not a damage claim. Shady Rays will honor the defect replacement with no issues if you can call them out on false advertising. With that type of claim you do not pay a processing fee, and it does not count as a damage replacement, the marketing team should have picked up on that and reset your damage replacement count, and refunded you the processing fees. I know this video is a year old but that warrantee if for life, I would email them.

Got a chance to field test both pairs. Brown pair has held up while being in my vehicle for quite a few hot days and they also perform the basic function of blocking the sun... Duh! With both pairs I was able to get out on the water and have to give low grades to the polarization. in most cases I could see better into the water without sunglasses.

What is the model of the clear pair you showed with the green lens and how have they held up ? I just ordered a pair of x series with the pro blue lens and the color rush with first time buyer 20 % off total was $80 time will tell if they will hold up to my Costa 580g

I believe they were called glacier. The lens on both pairs held up but the frames broke on both. I won't buy another pair

Ive used and abused my eyebuydirect shades. Not a visible peice of damage. Dropped of a catamaran i costarica. Rubbed through sands in thailand this isnt normal

I haven't been out on the water with them yet as my boat is having it's lower unit replaced. the timber framed pair has been in my car on these multiple 90 degree days and the lens have not peeled at all , so the initial first sign is good enough for florida's hot summer

Going to contradict my previous comment on the polarization. Was at the beach multiple days and said stuff like "check out the manatee in the water and others couldn't see it unless i let them wear my shades.

The Venture has the pro 2 lens. They have the black frame with blue polarized pro 2 lens and the black tortoise with black polarized pro 2 lens on clearance right now for $40. I have the blackout pair and figured I’d pick up some clearance Ventures as the Pro 2 lens is a premium nylon lens. Not as impact resistant but won’t scratch as easily. Also the frames are Acetate which are more sturdy than the plastic on their other frames. If you haven’t tried the Ventura you should jump on a clearance pair

The lens have been fine but the "timber" ones the frame broke. I would still recommend the upgraded lens but give a big thumbs down on the normal ones

Shady Rays only provides two replacement pairs. They do not replace them for life.

That's if you lose or break them yourself. They have a lifetime guarantee replacement policy if it's determined there's a defect or a problem with the material they used Edit: It's called "Craftmanship Claim"

Yea im done buying from them they barely last me maybe 6 months, then I can only replace it once and now it's like 15 bucks

It would be nice to be able to get a decent pair of polarized shades for fishing that last more than just a couple weeks that you don't have to pay $200 for. Time will tell if they can find that balance as I believe there is a market between gas station sunglasses and expensive pairs like ray bans

@@Kevtheguitarguy I have been looking at reviews of SR's for a beach trip. and im not really set on buying the SR's. If you don't want to pay full price for name brand, you can see if you have a local outlet mall. Sometimes they get "mistakes" in stock which are not dirt cheap, but are less expensive. the other thing I did to find cheap name brands was to visit your local sunglass hut or any of those mall style sunglass stores that sell the name brands. Ask if they have any clearance. Years ago I got a pair of Oakley Bottle Caps for 45 bucks. They were super ugly, but they did the job. About 8ish years ago I found another pair of oakleys on clearance for 80 bucks. They were the Oakley Holbrooks with the green polarized lenses. Nor really my first choice but I grew to like them and they honestly have been the best glasses I had ever owned... sadly. some guy sucker punched me in Nashville and snapped the frames. I wasn't about to stand around and try to pick of lenses and pieces after a drunk decided to punch me for no reason and I just got away from that area quick so nothing else bad could happen to me. 2 years ago I tried out a discount brand called "boosted" they had a series called "beaters" or something like that. they were about $25 a pair and I didn't have any problems with them until now. the hinges are the frame coating are going bad. the price has gone up on them and despite me liking them, I just haven't decided if I want to try a new brand or what. Hearing what you shared about shady rays... I am glad that I haven't pulled the trigger on a purchase yet.

Those lenses honestly look like theve been abused. Idk wtf you are doing with them. Maybe its all due to salt water but youd think if you were able to rinse them off in a timely manner they would be fine. Idk that bubbling is crazy tho, is this due to exposure to the absolutely swealtering FL heat?!

Could be heat. The timber pair I kept in my car. Some pairs only lasted a month. Other pair was my sandbar pair. Did not like the salt water. New pro lenses I have not had a problem with.

They are low quality. Period. Their cost of production. Is about half the cost of the replacement. 5 bucks. So even when you replace they make money.
