Early access games have existed a long time a this point. This game existed long before a lot of early access games that came after this and they aren’t even starting from scratch. Sure they made some improvements from the last game but I still hold the opinion that as a whole it isn’t a great looking game. When those improvements come in and they change some stuff around I’ll change my opinion but I’m not going to be dishonest on my opinion. Hell Ark Survival Evolved looked like crap, and still isn’t the best looking game out there but I can say it looks better than day 1. It’s no Red Dead though. There are some early access games that can really nail it though. Subnautica was early access for a long time but they sorted their shit out pretty quickly and methodically compared to some games that never left early.

ExistentialBread Actually, they did practically start the game from scratch. They explained it in one of their videos. The old games code was too hard to work with and change, so they had to redo all of it. And the quality of the game is because they have so much to work on. Because they aim to make this a realistic game, they must do a lot. Fur, Grass, Trees and models are already a lot themselves, but they also need to directly study and design realistic fighting, eating, running, etc. don’t judge this game based on how it looks, it’s an early access and has a lot more needed.

A FEW TIPS and GENERAL INFO for you to try to enjoy the game more: Try it out on easy mode, its definetly the most fun mode. It'll make it easier to survive encounters with other wolves etc. There are settings for you to put the inverted camera off, in the controls i think. There are "flame" shaped smells, that mean carcasses. The game is in early access mode and lags on any settings. Like so Beaver can see!

Also Beaver: keeps graphics on high and barely turns them down Beaver: These controls are terrible why is the camera inverted why aren't they [configuration he's used to]! Also Beaver: never actually goes to invert the camera or rebind any controls I try to be understanding of new players who don't know what they're doing, but this was hard to watch. The early access version he's playing definitely had some optimization issues but he made it so needlessly hard on himself to play and then blamed the game when he struggled :/ Which sucks bc WolfQuest really is a great game once you get the hang of it but I doubt he'll want to give it another chance now

This version of the game is early access, so it's going to have some bugs. The devs are currently working on fixes day after day. If a wolf is biting you, spam space to do damage. You want to not get hit by the mother elk, so watch it. Tap shift to slowly run, and tap it again to trot (this slow run doesn't take energy). Try the game on easy first, to get usd to it and, yes, accurate is a LOT harder than challenging. In real life, a lone wolf has roughly 2% chance of killing a full grown elk. Taking your time in a hunt is crucial, so be patient. Patience makes the game a LOT easier. Don't fight bears, dont attack momma elk (it just wastes time and health), and sleep to regain health. You'll gain health faster if you have a full stomach, so catch lots of hades if your health is really low.

Fire Dragon 101 if you play WolfQuest mobile it’s free but the pup crossing and defending means you’ll lose a few pups. (You can only get 3) witch means threats will kill the pups and maybe you, but it also costs money for pups and the PC- and non mobilers it needs money.

Hey! I've been a huge supporter and follower of this game for a long time. I currently am not able to play WQ3 due to my computer breaking but i've been "playing" the game through progress reports! Anyways my two cents! When you're in stranger wolf territory the wolves are growling, following, and biting you to scare you off. The reason they follow you even as you leave is because they are escorting you out, and hunting within their territory is basically stealing their food. While hunting avoid the mom! You wait for little windows of opportunity to latch on to the calf and bring it's health down! Be cautious of where you hunt as well. Since you hunted in their territory they scared you off again to take your kill! When hunting start by growling, howling, biting, and circling the pack to intimidate them. That way they run (makes it easier to hunt them) and you can scare them out of the wolves territory. And lastly this is a early access game :) so many features haven't been installed! They are also figuring out the bugs and kinks of the game! Anyways I suggest watching other people play (to get a sense of how to hunt and use other mechanics!) And learn more about this Amazing game I can't wait to get my hands on once I get a new computer! Anyways love your videos can't wait to see you continue WQ3 I also suggest checking out WQ2 so you can see how much the game has progressed! Also this message was all informative and in no way hateful! With no insight on the game (as well as playing challenging mode) anyone would be a little confused! 3 things 1: you can turn down the graphics lower as you have them pretty high 2: use hit and run tactics on the elk calves And 3: please keep playing! Maybe keep looking over the graphics settings for the lag. Some things like the clouds, shadow or water reflections can cause frame drops badly. As for the tutorial spend a little longer reading the entire message/prompt. Just cursory glances over a long window mean you may be missing out on more important information that could aid a bit more.

I enjoyes the video despite you having issues lol. So a few tips! Because I'd love to see you continue the game series :D 1. If it's your first time learning how the game expects you to survive I'd suggest starting on the easiest mode. It'll get you used to the slightly weird hunting techniques. They make a lot more sense when you've done it a few times. 2. When the game tells you to harass/growl/etc it's REALLY telling you to use a combination of emotes and attacks (obviously the mean ones) you can scare other wolves off by being assertive. It doesn't really explain that too well >.o 3. Next time you're hunting try spooking the mom with emotes. It may not work but it's worth the try. And if you can spook the kid causing it to run and panic away from mom you can get more damage before having to avoid the mom. Panic and chaos is your friend ;) Good luck!!

Hey some tips from a WolfQuest veteran if you want to continue playing this game (I personally want to see you play to the end): - You're probably better off turning off the tutorial because all of the stuff you need to know is in the regular game text honestly. And yeah.. the game is still an unfinished remake of a game from years ago, and it's not very well optimized right now haha. It's probably gonna get better within the next few weeks. - If you encounter stranger wolves, just run honestly. They'll stop chasing you if you leave the territory. - Every time you bite something, there seems to be a random chance of the damage you do and take from attacking. If you see that you're almost taking as much damage as you're dealing, just let go and try biting again so you can give the most damage without taking so much. And I must say, I've never seen someone encounter so many stranger wolves within such a short amount of time haha. You must be unlucky. But yeah I really want to see you finish this game cuz it's only got two quests as of now.

Beaver, I love your videos and your entire channel... I knew you first through Little Nightmares so I know how smart you are... But you really need to be more thoughtful when playing this game. Firstly, game is super early access. It's gonna have its issues. Secondly, I think you've just been getting really unlucky. I'd love to see you play more of this. If you want, here are some tips: -If you notice an elk scent is leading you into stranger territory, best to abandon the scent. It's not worth losing a hunt or even an accomplished carcass all because stranger wolves found you. -In an elk hunt, always aim for the calves. If there are multiple, look for the weakest calf in the herd. -Focus all of your attention and energy to ONE calf if you can help it. Just by holding on, you will take damage. If you're gonna take damage, you want to take as little as possible. -Not all wolves want to kill you. Just the ones inside claimed territory. After accomplishing two elk kills, you will need to find a mate. Look for female dispersals once you kill two elk. These are wolves that will be interested in you as a mate! -When hunting a calf, its best to circle around the mother and calf until you see an opening. Hang onto the calf for as long as you can until the mom is very close to you. This will help minimize damage.

Having to go into the other territories is intentional as in real life, dispersal (wolves who left their birth packs) often have to sneak in and out of established wolf pack's turf to find food/mates. I'd recommend playing on easy mode to get a feel of the controls and taking time/paying attention to read the popups since that's the only "tutorial" there is. They plop you in the map, tell you controls and give tips and that's it.

Beaver you might want to consider fighting back as u can easily take on a lone pack wolf I am sorry Beaver but in reality wolves do make their turf in elk hunting grounds and what u experienced is probably something lots of lone male wolves feel.

@@nuclearcosmos23 Yeah, you can, but you can't complain about a video game being bad if you don't know how to play it or won't bother learning rules/mechanics. I get Beaver's style is making comedy from being bad, but he sounded genuinely frustrated with it for his own mistakes and misunderstanding. WolfQuest isn't the right game for that type of comedy. It's meant to be a realistic simulator which means if you run gun-ho at everything you're going to die.

@@taniscolon9529 Nothing I wrote was rude. I simply pointed out he was not liking the game and blaming the game for his own faults. That's not being rude. That's pointing out the obvious and being critical (which is not automatically negative). The game has just been released in early access so of course, it's going to have issues. It's a wildlife simulation game meaning you have to play like that wild animal and not mess around. It's not a sandbox. It's not a game with free enough control for him to use his usual style of comedy. It works for the Isle because it's a very basic game at the moment with little rules aside from what server owners say. It works in Fish Feed and Grow because again it has very basic rules. WolfQuest has rules, has mechanics, is striving to be an accurate in-depth simulation of being a wolf. It just doesn't fit his usual type of video. That is what I pointed out. I didn't swear. I didn't insult him. I simply stated he didn't know how to play the game and then blamed the game for it which becomes annoying when you like the game/do know the mechanics or are paying attention.

To those of you who think the game is sucky, it’s early access. We’ve been waiting three years for this. There’s tons of bugs because I mean look at the 2.7 game, it evolved from THAT. I’m grateful for this game. Also sooo happy that Beaver is playing it :D

I lowkey miss playing wolf quest, when the original was out, this one looks a lot better, I always had a hard time keeps all the Wolf pups alive those because the eagles would keep taking them away 😤

You bite elk to see their health. Some elk are weaker than others and already have injuries when you hunt them. I recommend going after the weaker elk that have injuries. To deal with other wolves, use your emote wheel. The red on the "V" signifies that they will attack you. The higher the red, the more likely they will attack. On the other side on that "V" is yellow coloration, which signifies how likely they are to flee from you. Certain emotes will increase or decrease how likely other wolves or predators are in attacking or fleeing from you. Hope this helps! :)
