What a stuning video i’ve seen… A very huge thank you from a big fan of this sim… in almost 450 hours of play on this magnificent work and… it's true! I've never asked myself why i was playing it! I never figured out… just passion? But I could have made this a profession instead of moving a mouse for a lot of hours and not earning a pound... but your video really made me think!! with this video you managed to give an exhaustive answer, honoring this magnificent work and giving anecdotes that I didn't even know! being an Italian guy born in the last years of service of these beautiful buses, playing in the streets of Spandau or on the buses created by the Italian community of these old glories, is as you said, like taking a trip back in time and experiencing a job that will never return, a time now long gone. not excluding the fact that I also play euro truck or Train sim, but to be honest, they don't give the same experience as good old OMSI (the sounds, announcements, experience). Thanks again for your beautiful testimony: subscribed!

The 2 person indie bus simulator that has more care put into it than the average 2020s triple A game.

Really enjoyed the video! I think there is something to be said for simulation games, a few of them are quite clumsy but the better ones do seem to have more of a love within them for the thing they're simulation. Flight Simulator being the obvious, but with the Euro/American Truck Sims they do seem to have a love for the subject matter. With this you can see that too, and for all its quirks it is a genuine attempt to capture an era, and provide some education/flavor for the player.

It's kinda surreal watching this as I'm eating my breakfast and getting ready to go to work as a bus driver. Granted, it's 2024 and the US, but those noises haven't changed much across decades and continents.

this would be lovely in VR.

Definitely. I wouldn't mind being able to get out of the bus and have a wander around during those long waits on stand for the next timetable...

If you have a crash and nobody calls your bus "unordlicht" or comments "haben sie nicht zur Fahrschule gehen", can you really be said to have had a crash?

I think Polish train simulator SimRail has a similar vibe with the fully interactive cockpits, live weather and a full timetable on multiplayer servers. It really feels like you’re playing on a live rail network, much more than any other train sim.

I have Bus Simulator from SCS. It's really funny when you make mistakes like braking too hard or collisions the passengers will scream in terror. This game seems better though, will have to check it out.

Great video. As much as I have loved simulations of huge starship battles and multi-continental flights I agree that there is something to be said of simulating the more mundane smaller scale things. An ordinary day, on a bus, in Berlin, in the 80s. I know at least four other people I would want to watch playing this. Cheers 🙂

I'm looking forward to watching NerdCubed's playthroughs! I deliberately avoided them while watching this to avoid subconsciously copying too much. Although I'm told we both have the same fascination with the side window glass...

Omsi2 Is so satisfying. The bus experience is so well done. I have tons of mods for this and every bus is different. An old game like ETS2 and it still works today. Kepp up the videos sir!

OMSI looks pretty great actually, I'll have to check it out.

It's lovely! Except configuring it. That's not lovely. Also you will learn to mistrust kerbs and signposts, which I swear start wandering into the road once they're in your blind spot.

Only a very small amount, and not particularly correctly. Like I could just about order a beer and some food, providing I recognise something on the menu and don't get asked any unexpected follow-up questions.
