Lol, its the same case for DK2, 95% of people, myself included, played on the bugged AI version, where AI sits in the base and does nothing but turtle, making game easy as you gather resources not being bothered by the enemy and then just destroy him with more force, and they think it was designed this way. I always liked it, just like you wanted to praise the design of DK1 bugged version, and was very suprised that it shouldn't be like that. But it happened kinda other way around, original version 1.0-1.3 had AI and multiplayer working, but the most known retail 1.7 version had both ai and multiplier not working, they destroyed it in 1.6-1.7 patches while trying to fix crashes. Even GOG uses bugged 1.7 version as a base, but there is a way to play on 1.5 which works correctly.

for the sound glitch you have to set ral.exe (affinity to one core) at late stages game use to crash (not always), to solve this, you have to limit framerate to 60 at nvidia control panel.

Did the Windows 95 computers come with any programming tools? If no, that's quite a pity because the performance of that newer hardware should have been vastly superior. Was Visual Basic available on any of them? I used QBasic and Delphi 1.6 in Windows 3.1 but never had Windows 95 at home or used it significantly at school. Windows 98 was popular by the time I took computer science and computer programming courses in high school.

Hah, yes! The mobile version is a port of Chris Saywer's Locomotion. (Also has an open source reimplementation, OpenLoco, although the project hasn't had as much development as OpenTTD or OpenRCT2)

FYI I've been digging into the locations they must've scanned: Hartness State Airport, KVSF (Springfield, VT in the game) is one, together with Sugarloaf, ME; Skybryce, VA; Sedona, AZ; Denali, AK; and Dinan, France (there were more areas in the Win 95 version I understand). I think I'll get some more accurate locations and take a Pitts up over it in MSFS 2020 sometime soon.
@TimberwolfK13 күн бұрын
ooh, fascinating. I think some of the tutorials in MSFS 2020 are based around Sedona - at least, I certainly recall doing some sort of flight school thing, taking off in a Cessna 152 and going, "hang on, this looks awful familiar". Credit to Looking Glass that it still felt familiar in a game about 25 years newer!

PC games from the '90s and early '00s were the best! Rollercoaster Tycoon, X-Wing, Dark Forces, Commander Keen, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Sam and Max, B-17 Flying Fortress, Police Quest, Battlefield 1942, Wacky Wheels, and many more!

I think what does it is that there is a relatively complex rail network, and you have to plot your own course on that network, making sure to know all the switches along the way to reach your destination
