I once decided to play with an amulet of many minions with Calamity... seeing how a train with slimes destroys Supreme Calamitas (for reference, this was BEFORE the stat rebalance, Calamitas had 8 million HP) I was certainly not surprised. perfect balance. still love this mod, but thanks for some new ones I didn't know about. spider mount looks incredibly cool

Thorium Mod is probably my favorite summoner mod. Viscount's Cane is an insanely strong late pre-hardmode weapon, whilst the Strange Skull literally makes you Sans Undertale.

The Cell weapons are multi-use single summons. Like the stardust dragon. And at enough summons they start really ramping up dps. I remember the corruption cell tearing apart the hungry in the wall of flesh fight

I just did this a couple months back, as someone whose favorite class is also summoner I tried to find as many mods as possible (many were undeniably way too overpowered) and had an absolute blast playing through the game and getting weapons which made my game run like a slideshow

Summoner Class doens't really need any addition, except for more whips, and more accessories(since basically, only feral claws buffs whips except for damage), so, instead of adding 92318184719561 minions, the mod could do a overhaul of the progression, something that makes mods like: Calmity, Thorium, Secrets of the Shadows and Spirit really prefered for summoner-lovers.

I'm actually playing through vanilla Master mode as a dedicated summoner right now (first time I've devoted my build specifically to summoner even) and I have to say, it's a lot of fun once you really give summoner the spotlight - I'm still prepping for the Wall but the fact summoner turns a lot of things you'd normally just roll your eyes at (Snow Flinxes (even despite their famous lack of knockback resistance), Old One's Army, HM spider caves, and plenty of others) into actually fairly important steps a neat detail, it greatly encourages exploration - which I don't feel the other classes do quite as well. Now given, Duke Fishron's summoner drop can still completely break the intended stat progression but frankly if you _can_ beat that fight early enough I say you deserve it! (There's also the Terraprisma which I am moderately terrified to think about actually trying for cause I've never even attempted the Empress normally) - On paper the whips just make the class "Melee+" but I feel it's more than that, partially cause from what I understand, whips' "tag" bonuses can actually stack separately, so for instance combining a Leather Whip and Snapthorn's tag bonus shoots it up to 10 instead of the individual 4 or 6, so there's a bit more to planning out your equipment/weapons than just "big number go brr"

You should have also grabbed I think Thorium. Why? Well it adds my favorite accessories. Spiders, Scorpions, AND MORE! Seriously though. Outside of adding more accessory slots, when I mod terraria for summons I always have thorium just so I can get what I like to call minion summoning minions. They aren't actual minions but these creatures that do small bits of damage and boost your summon damage by a few added damage. They have a chance to be summoned when you do summon damage. Or when your minions do damage I can't remember off the top of my head. Eitherway it pairs remarkably well alongside the rats.

I have been waiting so long for a progressive summoner mod that lets you summon bosses (Slime Staff goes through some slime stages until it can summon Slime King for example) to the point that I started learning C# to do it myself. 3 weeks in and still understanding everything I write.

The likely reason that you beat the primordials is you got the summoner equivilant of a meele character having three fire gauntlets or having multiple terraspark boots equipped and getting a stacking buffs

Dungeon enemies have specific wall tiles they spawn on. So that was the reason the mages didn’t spawn. If you tried to build a dungeon enemy farm you know it’s a pain
