I mean the game is basically going to be like Spore with you going from single cell to Space Age civilization, right now the only stuff that works and kinda works is Single Cell and the multicellular prototype, but I honestly really like it. I like how species develop counters to your playstyle to avoid going extinct, so if you are a predator they develop spikes and toxins, and if you are a non motile species you are more likely to be predated against because that is simply more effective for those species and then you will have to develop protections against predators

if you restart the game the lag goes away also, your cell's dimensions and thus the shape it takes is reliant on visable blocks and not surface blocks (you can keep stacking them and it won't effect your visual size) however they still exist and can be damaged, so you usually want to put something on the ends of your tail so you can actually see it. also also, when you become multicellular your cells no longer increase in size as you eat, which means if you come across a precursor cell that is close to splitting, then it will just straight up be able to eat you. you need to make your stem cell fast and able to eat so you can quickly grow your other cells, then i found making a specialized eater cell your next cell is the best. the eater needs to be massive, consider just adding cheap cytoplasm so you can make the cell large enough to eat your precursor species. Also also also, sometimes you need to go to a new patch to refresh the cells in an area, when you duplicate you stay in the same instance, and so if your other cells kill everything else and duplicate, eventually it will stop spawning other cells. just go to a new patch, go extinct in that patch and head back and you'll be fine.

This once again reminds me that someday thrive will be finished and amazing. I am waiting for that day

I suspect the reason that you ended up with that wierd tail is because the individual cells you built were long thin rods. Since the game at least tries to avoid overlapping them, the tail is the result. Keeping them more spherical may also help with avoiding the weird overlap issues.

Writing should go into this game; it would work by asking the user to "draw [object X]" when a new object is discovered, and the resulting drawing becomes the pictogram the literate species uses to represent object X. Verbs are prompted by "draw a representation of [verb Y]" or based on nouns. Such as a mouth for eating or biting, a fruit or a skull for nourishment, a hook for pulling, etcetera, so that results in "Associate [verb Y] with noun…" And adjectives pretty much ditto.
