WHITNEY AND LEVI, well..my opinion is that this guy is tremendous and super original, he owns the song, of course. it's... wonderful, it's definately wonderful. As a youngster listening to the Four Tops records, I was 11 years younger than my brother, never did I think I would to get to meet them, interview them, and for Levi to become like a Father figure and such an amazing Family. Just saddens me that such as this version which Levi takes to Church are never released and also the Norman Whitfield album project which was the last Levi recorded has never been issued and lies on a shelf.

Comparing whitney and Levi's versions. Is like comparing apples or oranges. Hell, I love oranges more. Levi at the time of this recording was at his peak as a vocalist.His phasing the emotions he bought to this song made it his song forever. Now Miss Houston give her credit for even having the gaul to take on what was a monumental task of even doing justice to this song. Was she so full of herself? Was she the victim of bad advice? Or did some executive just want to see her fall on her face. We will never know.Any way I give her credit for trying!

Correct, Linda. This version has never been officially released. I thought people would be interested in hearing the different ending to the song. I do really like this version, but I prefer the original, as well. IMO, Levi's voice was the greatest to come ut of the 60's Soul//R&B world.

Levi was a big Frank Sinatra fan, and I used to furnish him with rare Sinatra recordings and performances. Great guy! Anyway, I agree with you, there should be a real documentary. No question.
