Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! This time we take a look at how in the last couple days, the FBI has continued it's tug of war with a notorious group known as ALPHV, a group that's since restructured in a matter of hours and has confirmed the gloves are finally off. Thanks for watching!

Nuclear control rooms are mostly analog systems and completely disconnected from the internet. The only thing they could do is attack the grid, cause a massive load rejection, and a subsequent reactor trip. Nuke plants have diesel backups to maintain safe shutdown conditions, so it's more of a hassle for operators than anything.

@@jonbourgoin182 It's fairly easily accessible, but you don't need to feel stupid if you haven't gone searching for this information. There's little/no reason for a nuclear power plant to be connected to the internet. Why would the most secure and sensitive environments in the world risk putting their computers online?
@abbe9641
@abbe9641 8 ай бұрын
Because connecting a nuclear power plant to the internet is quite possibly one of the most idiotic things you possibly can do. They probably have an intranet though as powerplants are large and require communication between terminals and what not but remotely hijacking that would be impossible.

I'm just so glad that when multimillion/billion dollar companies get hacked, we have a bunch of detail about exactly how they did, what they did, when they did, and who did it. But when it comes to multibillion dollar CEOS and congress people running trips to Jeffery Epstiens Island, there's names that may or may not be affiliated, dates that may or may not exist, victims that have gone in the blackness, and a timeline that takes 10 years for a drop of information.

And also funny how they'll work triple shifts to investigate an obviously fake dossier tying a President the elites don't like to Russian operatives, but when there's solid, concrete evidence tying a President the elites _do_ like to shady dealings in Ukraine and China that constitute corruption at best and high treason at worst, it's sit-back-and-scratch-our-asses time. The modern FBI is merely the not-so-secret police of the American corporatocracy, plain and simple. They exist solely to attack anyone who refuses to fall in line.

There's something you never do with cybercriminals like this. You never declare an outright offensive war with them. The glowing three letter agencies keep jerking right after scoring against people in countries they can do stuff about, but the moment they play offense in these situations rather than defense, now these people are encouraged to ramp up to levels like this, and there's largely nothing we can do about it. I already hated not being able to get gas when the pipeline was stopped, I don't want to deal with power and other stuff getting shuttered just because these agencies think they are perfect warriors for people who have never been told how to manage or have very poor management their OPSEC.

I just want to know why someone would attack a place that is known for not having a lot of money and why we are sitting here months later waiting for it to reopen - the British Library in the UK was hit by a cyberattack back in October. And it is still not back online and is crucial for a lot of people like me and other PhD students. So yes, that hurts, but also makes no sense?
@ForOne814

@charliefen
@charliefen 8 ай бұрын
@@ForOne814 the thing is it hasn't attracted a lot of attention, so I'm wondering whether they have achieved their aim? We know they put the information (those who have signed up with the British Library) up for ransom, but heard nothing since. Now this is an important site that has been down for months now, but as only a small percentage of the population are impacted (i.e. academics), no one seems bothered. I mean it has to be fixed eventually, as it is a major institution, but the silence surrounding it is astonishing and the length of time. It just makes no sense to me as I can't see what they would have got out of it, with no ransom (the info seems useless), no one paying attention etc. I'd be curious if Muta looks into things outside the US, as this seems a lot bigger than it is being made out to be by the media. It would be like if the Library of Congress was closed for months due to a cyberattack, I guess? That's the equivalent main public library. But then people barely cover it in the news and there is no update...

FBI agents have specially-designed holsters so they don't accidentally shoot themselves when drawing their guns. If you're wondering why no one else uses these holsters, it's because they don't need them. (and because they put other peoples' lives at risk) Just so you know what you're dealing with.
