Nuclear control rooms are mostly analog systems and completely disconnected from the internet. I'm not sure how ransomware is still a big problem, specifically for big companies. I worked as IT specialist in a bank, and we had a backup system with physical tapes on a daily basis. Of course, it's a bit costly, but it's a very good investment, not only for ransomware, but also for problems in the system in general. I see no reason a big company shouldn't have it.

I mean it has to be fixed eventually, as it is a major institution, but the silence surrounding it is astonishing and the length of time. It just makes no sense to me as I can't see what they would have got out of it, with no ransom (the info seems useless), no one paying attention etc. I'd be curious if Muta looks into things outside the US, as this seems a lot bigger than it is being made out to be by the media.
