My BEST tips for getting votes in Dreamsnaps is to 1. Create something that people expect to see from the theme, including items, outfit, skin/hair color, companions and villagers. Imagine a child trying to guess the theme from your photo alone. 2. Use a clean, easy-to-read and aesthetically pleasing composition at a glance. 3. Make sure the lighting matches theme and composition and color palette, although it's less important to perfect it. If you're trying to go for 4k Moonstones and not rank 1, keep it simple.

There is seriously something unbalanced about the voting results. For the winter summer outfit challenge, I had on a red toque, a red scarf, red winter gloves and red summer top, red shorts, red high heels. I did a winter scene in the Frozen snowy area, with Olaf, snowmen, the Beast because he matched my red clothes, I had a summer camper, and camp fire, and snowballs everywhere. I included great lighting as well. It was nicely placed, a very effective scene, met all the criteria, I know I staged a great photo. I got 900 Moonstones. Pfffst. I think a lot of people just vote until they get the free moonstones and then they stop. Also this summer/winter challenge was absolutely pathic to vote on, one of the worst. I am discouraged.

I was pleasantly surprised with 4k this week (I submitted it on the first day because I was inspired), but last week when I was really proud of what I did (& submitted literally last minute), only got 1,200.

Oh no, I'm sorry MrStar ❤ If it helps, I feel like SO many people got robbed this week, the results seem even more skewed than usual. My theory is there wasn't much voting going on, for a few reasons: 1. Easter 2. New Stardew Valley update (whose player base seems to have a high correlation with DDV) 3. The fact that we're between updates - Many players have already finished the Laughing Floor content and aren't playing daily atm. 4. The challenge itself was confusing and not very exciting, so voting was even more boring/tedious and more random than normal. I personally got rank 5505 on PS and only received 1200 moonstones, which means there were also less submissions than normal overall, which seems to support this theory imo (at least the part about people just not vibing with this specific theme). Hopefully next week is better, but yeah, it's still sad to see so many amazing submissions getting robbed 😢

I honestly think 90% of the community got robbed for this week. I got top 1000 and was thrilled, but I have seen other submissions that definitely should have ranked higher than me.

There were so many weird results this week, between the simple or even bad photos at 4000 moonstones and the beautiful photos at 600/900/1200 it's really disgusting! The last time there were such bad results was the jeans theme in November. I keep saying that their system is not good but it is obvious that there is a problem.

I did a really simple separation shot (but with great lighting, if I can say so myself) and got rank 12, my highest ever. I actually like your alt account shot, but think the green monster skin maybe hurt you? And I also wonder if previous ranking plays a role as to what voting pool you go into? If that makes sense. On the main account, maybe the filter hurt your chances?

nope, everyone I know got 300 moonstones and tags were high. I give up trying to figure out. This is how many of us feel weekly with this. Tags have not mattered. It is to the point that it is getting to much to deal with on a weekly basis and working so hard on these to be able to buy things and this is results. I see people who get lots of moonstones and the pictures are not good. They are able to put out tons of items when people on swtich on limited item counts. What is crazy on your second account you got 159 mist and 1500 and I got 300 but 168 mist, make that make sense. It truly do not get it. I was shocked at my result. They keep adding more and more items to premium and no way. I cannot afford to buy enough and 50 moonstones daily in chest adds up so slow and hunting for the dang chest daily.

I spend hours making a submission and I know some of them are really good ( I am an artist and photographer) And the voting is discouraging as it seems most are submitting photos to just get the bare minimum 300 moonstones, it is boring to vote for so many crappy photos and why cant we just skip the ones we dont like!!!

I finally got rank 51. Highest for me. Took photo in snow with cherry blossoms and other pink blooms and pink snake and Olaf for companions. Pretty simple but totally symmetrical. Just trying to get the moonstones. Not looking for art or story. My plan has worked for 8 weeks now. I admire people who go for more. I’m just not that artistic. 😊

I ranked 156 with four and seven tags. I did it in Frosted Heights in the scenery that was already set up, so no decorating. I just concentrated on the outfit. This is my best ranking ever. Just happy to keep my 4k streak going!

I did 2 submissions and I got wrecked on both, but the better of the two did worse (1500) than my alternate (2500). I’ve been getting absolutely destroyed for weeks - both my theme park ones were good and I just got steamrolled. In fact, the better of the 2 got demolished, I think it was 900 ms. And I’m telling you, the voting pool I’m personally seeing every week is absolute trash. Low effort yard sales, quest photos, off/theme nonsense and selfies. The really wonderful stuff people put up in the various discords, I never see. Maybe 4-5 pretty good ones each voting session.

Writing a new comment to say that I finally saw my results and dang I have the same rank as you 🤣but my score was 40.38 so a bit lower, and yeah 300 monstones too! Tbh my submission was simple and unfortunately I didn't save it as a picture but maybe I will try to recreate it to submit on the dreamers portal (basically, I was standing on little wooden bridge near Elsa's cave, Elsa was around, and I was holding a white rabbit in my hands. I think the outfit was matching bcs it was icy antlers on the head and shorts from what I remember. Winter-y bright filter too)

I’d really like to know exactly how this voting thing works. Because I got 4000 from my theme park one and had no theme park items and I put in way more effort on the summer winter one and even had 3 characters in it which was so hard to do and only got 900 😢

I got 1200 and mine was nowhere near as good as your main. I used the door in frosted heights and made a path that “led” to summer, where summer was implied to be behind the door. So I did like a path leading to it with some summer items. My character was wearing summer shorts and a summer top under the grey winter coat. But yeah I don’t think it was as good as yours was. The week before I got 600 and I understood that because the lighting was bad, and I only noticed on the day when I checked it and I had no time to fix it. It doesn’t really mean much to me, I could buy the bakery this week, which I was stoked about so 🤷‍♀️

I @mrstar ……I think the first one scored low because there was no furniture or any items at all. I do like how it looks so I don’t think that was the issue. My second guess would be that it needed more tags. Lastly, “probably senpie” suggested the later we take to submit our snap, the less likely it is to be seen and thusly less likely is to be voted on. So I’m not sure how long you waited to submit but maybe that had a hand in it. 😢I’m sorry you were disappointed. However, it’ll make it more exciting when you get 4000 months next week!

Okay, you got robbed for sure! Yours definitely should have scored higher, but I get it about the tags. I did the same thing. My picture looked good, but my tags were very low. My tags were 4 and 8, but I got 900 moonstones. So maybe that is why you did as well, who knows. And I spent a TON of time on mine, and I was shocked I didn't at least get a little more than I did. I think this was a rough week for everyone. Just SOO many good submissions, and the tags were needed to set us apart to even come close in voting. Just a guess though.

Yea for outfit challenge don't overdue it, i had 2 times 5 minute snaps on switch (7000)and playstation (173) both got 4k with not max tags... to be honest your second account with 300 moonstones is very low that deserves a little better and on your main account i honestly don't like the composition and feels overexposed, i think the results are fair

I think your main submission outfit was too blendy with the background colors. Someone voting on a small screen would just see green and brown everywhere and think there was no character there.
