gameloft have been creating and releasing multiple games at once for a very long time, so i truly don’t see this affecting disney dreamlight unless they see a dip in revenue from ddv. as a dnd fan, i’m more concerned about the upcoming game than anything. wotc has increasingly made revenue focused choices with the dnd ip, and the community has noticed. they HAVE to knock this out of the park or it won’t perform as well, i think.

As D&D is the first RPG ever made, the videogame will be an RPG. The good thing is that it's based on a lore that already exists, I don't think that D&D players will play that, but I will for sure. The lore have the potential I hope devs make good use of it. I think it will be something between Albion and Zelda (or palia).

Gameloft successfully creating a game with multiplayer servers, where players can die or get severely injured, with complex coding, and no cute Disney characters to carry it? 😂 This would require multiple miracles.

I D&D game. I am not that familiar with it either but it's a roleplay game. If Gameloft pulls this off I am excited for this game. I hope DDV keeps doing well so they don't take any development time from DDV 🤞

Like you mentioned, all of Gameloft’s games have their own teams so I don’t think it’ll affect Dreamlight Valley in a negative way. There’s a chance it’ll affect it in a positive way but that seems unlikely to me since DDV is a Disney game and D&D is not. So my guess is that DDV will not be affected. I guess we’ll see Also, it’s great they’re looking for new character 3D artists! Maybe the new artists will bring better character models and other art styles? I’ve definitely seen a huge improvement in characters models since Early Access ( to name a few, Mike & Mirabel look magically incredible! )

I say with all the Disney characters in disney that they haven't put in the game and the future disney characters, if they do star path theme's based off them. They will have players staying in this game for years to come

@MrStarInSky, if nobody has mentioned it already, you NEED to check out Balder’s Gate 3, either by playing it yourself or catching someone else’s playthrough for an intro into D&D. @PaigeTheWitch has a good Wizard Tiefling playthrough series up on her KZbin channel. Everyone’s playthrough is completely different as it depends on what choices you make and what dice roll’s you’re dealt. It’s really good, I highly recommend! Like most of us, I’m mostly on DDLV but BG3 is such a good game also

I think we are already seeing a slowdown with how long it takes for bugs to get fixed. No hotfix with the last update.

Gameloft have so many games releasing and already out and they are able to Update them monthly so disney dreamlight valley shouldn’t be affected

Ok I wont lie when they announced it I was very excited because I love DD and I LOVE Disney dreamlight Valley..... But the problem is that of all the games I play and played, and I play a lot of them, Disney dreamlight valley, Corel Island, BG3, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Conan Exiles, Cyber Punk, Divinity sin 2. Dragon's dogma 2, Fae Farm, Enshrouded, Immortals Fenyx Rising, My time at Sandrock and My time at Portia, SmalLand, Starwars games, tomb raider games, PalWorld, Wylde Flowers, The Witcher games, Animal crossing New Horizons and Sunnyside (well I loved the Demo waiting for the release.) Just to name a few and show you how many I actually play and played as an example. My point is that Gameloft are the worst when it comes to patches and fixes, it took them a year to fix one issue. My scrooges shop is still empty and I'm lucky if I get 1 new item, and I'm seriously burnt out on Dreamsnaps. I love this game I will still support and play it but I see the same thing happening with the DD one or potentially slow down on dreamlight valley (an already slow to fix) game. I will however buy it and play it as well, I love DD but they really need to get their priorities straight. Set teams to certain games, release patches and fixes instead of waiting close to a year or waiting for the next big update to fix something (if we are lucky), update their festivals, be creative and add a team to make clothes and furniture, fix multiplayer, allow us to use items and different poses while taking pics, add more options to the touch of magic when creating clothes and furniture, let us use our imaginations since that is what Disney is all about when creating dreamsnaps, possibly updating dreamsnaps and maybe allow us to use touch of magice furniture if not the clothes.. things like that. They need to listen more to what the players are saying instead of ignoring us (for the most part) they only answer someone who compliments them, never one who has an issue.... But I guess we shall wait and see. (Also Corel Island has patches and fixes when needed, they have a detailed roadmap for us to follow, they also respond to players when asked questions. I follow all of them on social media and I get regular updates in my games.) Also looking forward to Farm Folks and On the Rock.

Omg I will 100% be playing that. I loved Baldurs gate 3 which is also based on D&D. D&D + Life sim is a dream come true for me.

Baulder's Gate 3 - the newest DnD game that has been popular. I give DDV 2 years or less before it begins a slow demise.

The game runs off a dedicated server. Once the game is no longer profitable for Gameloft, they will close the servers. It's happened to many games with far greater player bases than DDV.

You can play muliple games from the same company without it effect ethoter. Love dnd play it every week in a group.

I agree, I don't think this new game will affect either the pace of DDV updates or their quality (I'm looking forward to this new game as a fantasy fan even though I also don't know much about D&D). I do think it'll be a direct competitor for the upcoming (trailer and hopefully release date coming soon!) Tales of the Shire by Weta Workshop.

I'm not familiar with D&D, but I've played games based on it. This has my attention, and I'd be interested in playing, but I'd be concerned about microtransactions. I do love DDV though, and will keep playing, no matter what else I do. I can imagine (and hope) that some others might feel the same way. I like hearing about other games, even if I might not necessarily play them, because I just might find another game I like. You're on top of everything, and you'd be a great person to bring us general gaming news. Thanks!

D&D is the firs RPG ever made. Born as a table game, it's structured like a tale. The "Master" is the role of the storyteller, the one that build the story, it must to be an experienced player of D&D because it have to know all the mechanics of the game and the books (books are manuals that describes all the creatures of D&D). It's super nerd stuff. I think this game will probably be a open world sandbox, something between Albion and Palia or Zelda. I'm really hyped for that. But I don't think that actual players of D&D will play that, unless Devs are doing something that we have never seen before.
