I don't think that most entry level basic mechanical movements are much to look at, so for me, I prefer nicely embossed solid case backs. Nice review.

the miyota 9000 is great but SM will charge 400 and more. what really bothers me is ghost date position on the crown.. this one could've been perfect if the date was at 6. keep these coming SM love it!

I bought the Blue/Orange version 4 weeks ago with the orange strap and love it. My only gripe is that right now this looks like a fake "sale" since the sale price is identical to what I paid. It's not cheap, but then no SM is. The NH35 is a reliable and rugged movement that can be extremely accurate. There's too much snobbery around it IMO.

Than just go with the Citizen. They have awesome movements with amazing accuracy (automatics with Myota 90xx). I have 3 Citizens automatic, one being a diver titanium, and all of them run consistently +/- 10 sec./week.

There are several SMs that i would have bought, but they dont have an exhibition caseback. I prefer a caseback because seeing the movement is so enjoyable. PT5000 also exists as an option. Runs well in my Proxima

I bought the watch as soon as it came out. And it's a stunner. Exibition caseback wouldn't add anything IMO, NH35 is fine with me.

Sono d'accordo che nh35 sia un movimento decente, ho acquistato 4 San Martin ma, onestamente faccio fatica ad acquistare altri modelli che hanno il medesimo calibro che trovo in orologi ( comunque più che decenti) a 60€

I see more Citizen Promaster than Rolex. You're really buying it only for looks. Otherwise under the hood it's just another common Chinese spec'd out NH with a waffle strap. Same movement, steel, crystal, etc as all the others costing much much less.

SM's weakness is their case backs. Boring, and uninspiring. Not even engraved. Why? At $200-300 price category, this is a big oversight. This skin-diver colorful design is a winner. Gorgeous. Even the steel bracelet matches. But the case back is more a priority than the Seiko movement.

I love a display case back with watch specific details printed along the outside SS rim. IMHO it elevates the watch. Such sterile casebacks have kept me from even trying SM watches.
