Hey great video! Just a quick tip from me: if you have a continuity error, leave it in. Think about it, what you wanted was engagement, and people commenting. If people notice it, they will feel smart when they comment and correct your mistake. You can then answer with "good catch!" or something to make them feel good which gives you the likes. I myself always leave 1-2 spelling errors in the video, and ill put a few wierd things in the background to boost comment rates :)

Your channel is so good at what I call the Bill Nye effect. As a kid, in school all of the students couldn't wait for the science prof to play Bill Nye in class. Seriously, I never met a kid who didn't like Bill Nye even though most of us hated science. That's like a 100% CTR in youtube terms! Bill Nye was so good at making content interesting and appealing even if you have no interest in the topic. KZbin advice is such a specific niche, but your videos are enjoyable and have such a great story that even if someone didnt have a YT channel or interest in YT, they would still really enjoy your video. I'm trying to do the same with my channel, but you've mastered it, and it's so great to watch and learn from you! Thank you 🙏

The 24h metric comparison really indicates that I should be digging deeper, well done bro! The question now is: Has this video became the new 1/10? If so, we will need a new video about this video, that is about the previous video. The endless rabbit hole 👀
@FilmBooth2 жыл бұрын
That would actually be the 4th video, not the 3rd but I wont say anymore as I'll need to wait a few weeks to see if we can make that. 24 hour data for me is one of the most important places to focus
@Elementar2 жыл бұрын
@@FilmBooth Hahaha, so it actually goes even deeper! Will keep an eye on the 24h metrics. I've learned quite a few valid strategies from your channel this January, even though I’ve been here at least 6 months or so. For the audio issue I would have used Audacity! There's a really easy way to reduce background noise, you can look up some very easy tutorials but here's the gist: you grab a part where you're not talking, tell Audacity you want to eliminate that kind of noise, then grab the rest and eliminate that kind of noise from it. You can import audio from videos and then just put it back into the project and delete the original audio that has the issue. Hoping anyone else who might have this problem in the future will see this! (I also recommend doing it if you have to record in noisy environments in general!)

As a perfectionist myself, I haven’t related to a video so much in a long time. The constant refilming, encountering problems with audio, lighting, etc. This one hits home! 😂

Would love to see a video...something along the lines of making that tradeoff between quality and quantity (or how much is too much work in a video). I know this is a production quality channel and the 'best practices' is always quality over quantity but for as much time as you spent on the video...I wonder if you couldn't have created two or three 'good' videos and gotten just as many or more views total. Reminds me of Churchill's quote, "Perfect is the Enemy of Progress." I struggle with this because it seems, at times, KZbin rewards quantity over quality. You see channels doing daily uploads and even multiple dailies and really doing well. I spent two months developing a five-video series; shooting in-person interviews and b-roll, developing story lines for each video and an arc across the series...and all five bombed. I don't regret it because it challenged me and they are great videos but could have done 15+ videos in the same amount of time and probably gotten many times more views.
@FilmBooth2 жыл бұрын
Ive actually tested this and the quality ones won by miles :) Also when a quality video doesnt do well, a thumbnail change can blow it up, I know its more work but I look at these videos as works in progress until I can find the right title and thumbnail combo to get them to hit their potential
@lostmarbles2d2 жыл бұрын
My 2 cents: I've been tracking a few competitors in my niche, one of which started their channel at about the same time (late November 2021). My strategy during December was daily uploads, and in January I switched to 3-4 per week. So I'm at about 60 videos so far, roughly 1.5m views total. Another channel in my niche has made 7 videos in the same time, their initial growth was slower (November-December), but in the last 2-3 weeks their channel's growth has started outpacing mine by a wide margin, and has already overtaken mine in views. The difference is that each of those 7 videos had much more effort put in, per video. So I do think that quality is probably more important than quantity. Just keep in mind that as creators, we can be very biased regarding the quality of our own work, and many hours spent on a video does not necessarily translate to it being a compelling video for viewers. I do love that quote! The variant of it I've heard is "perfect is the enemy of good", so personally I try to aim for 80-90% in terms of quality and just ship the video at that point.
@northinvestor2 жыл бұрын
I think that when you first start combine both can be interesting because if you produce too much you might not create great video that will be intersting for your audience but maybe I am wrong as well!
