Those are characters from a TV show called CryBabies: Magic Tears. The chick and deer and are actually a baby phoenix and Santa's reindeer. From what I saw, they're paired with two baby dolls, Feli and Rosie. The +4 ratings are probably because of the TV show.

I wonder if pressing in the button while you put the water in would open the chamber enough to let the water in? Not that that would make it okay, it should just work the way you expect it to. They should have stuck with the tried and true soft plastic squeezable head design.

As long as peope buy it, they'll continue doing so. They just pay certain people for giving them good ratings so many people get tricked into buying the crappy products. People are easily tricked by good ratings, unfortunately, and companies make use of that. I hate it, but as long as people fall for- fake- good ratings, I'm sure this will continue on forever. So annoying. And people who work for them and give fake good ratings make it worse. They're just as much at fault for companies spewing out crappy products.

A lot of said products just have fake reviews and Amazon cannot police these companies properly since there's too many of them doing it, so unless there are enough complaints made about a review they just look into more obvious ones (or try to) and then the rest are left to inflate a product's review scores.

The rating is most likely high because amazon like ebay allows bot use and thus companies can artificially inflate the product score which buyers cannot see. This is why you always look at the negative reviews to get an accurate product review.

Jackie, regarding your question of how these products are so well rated, I almost guarantee you of the ones that aren’t botted or paid for, there are no doubt plenty of them that consists of people rating them they bought them for their niece or nephew or child or grandchild and were more concerned with the child’s interest or excitement than based on actual constructive experience with it.

I would like to see Jackie try pressing the button while squeezing see if that opens a seal similar like when you bite down on the valve of an intertube to blow it up. That might be the hack of getting the product to work. Otherwise they are cute collections may as well just omit the whole crybabies feature and make it color changing instead.

I think the bird is a phoenix, and the deer is supposed to be a reindeer. Which is not a fantasy creature, but they are common in Christmas stories so I guess that’s supposed to be enough.

I had a dolly called Tiny Tears from the 70s she worked really well drinking from her bottle and crying tears, if I remember later she would also wet her nappy/diaper in an upgraded version. These toys would drive me crazy because it's not that difficult to make them cry. Can you imagine all the disappointment on Christmas day when children would get these as a gift and they don't work, all the parents will be crying with the kids out of frustration.

You should try feeding the water through the tear...ducts, and see if any of them function that way!

For future reference! Sometimes random buttons dont do anything and are just part of the molding! In this case, you just need to experiment a bit and push the small button to open the valve for water and put it back so the water doesn't fall out when its upright. Sometimes if there's a random button, you should push it!

To find out those little things can cry or not, maybe you could try to put them in water and press those back button, if they have good air flow, there should be air bubble while doing that. Hope this works 🤔

Just a shot in the dark but try having the button (on the character) pressed in with the bottle in the mouth, then release the button. Maybe the suction will pull the water in? And for the reviews bet they are fake.

I think the drumstick has a bite taken out (indentation), and, just a suggestion, maybe the extra button allows for air for filling? Try holding that button as you try to fill. Might help, I have no clue. Great video btw. I feel your frustration. Very salty 😡

Have you checked if they figurines are actually pierced through with a wooden skewer or something like that? It would be good to know if it is an issue with the figurine or the bottle or whatever.

So something I have always thought about whenever I read all these "good" reviews then suddenly read all the negative reviews... How many people from the company that makes these products are the ones who write all the good reviews? Also with this product... the worry about mold inside the toy is major! Well, that is if any water actually gets inside the toy... Jackie, you know these people don't truly care about design. If they did, your review would have been better.

I’m wondering if the button causes an air trap! There’s no way to pump the water into the toys because there’s no way for the air to be displaced? It might need the button to be pumped while the water is squirted in? In either case, cute……. ish. But ultimately very disappointing. 😕
