@@kralekis Not in the UK. Big saloons just don't hold value here, and fuel prices will put off a lot more. The repair costs will likely far exceed it's value, possibly be a multiple of it's roadworthy value. I would still want to see it on the road again, but I understand there aren't many, if any, multimillionaires who would happily throw money into getting vehicles back on the road at a multiple of what they could sell for on a good day, and Alex isn't one of them so there's only so much he can do, even with a spec the heart screams about needing saved.

Hey alex, MG F Enthusiast here, i have owned several of these and the way to disarm the immobiliser is on the key fob, being rover/MG you have to make sure all the doors are closed including the frunk and the boot, lock the car with the key fob, unlock the car and put the key in the ignition, the little ALARM light in the centre of the Dash should go out indicating the immobiliser has been deactivated so it should turn over. Love the videos, cant wait to see your take on the little MG (the suspension is also a bit funky they use spheres filled with gas, make sure the spheres are not perished as this can cost a fair bit to replace but to get them pumped up you will need a specialist for. if there is no gas in the spheres you wont get the correct ride height making the car very low and scrape on everything)

The S600 is definitely a big risk, but the color is absolutely georgeous. Very rare. The electric issues can be a really painful but also let`s not forget, that there is also another elefant in the room: the ABC-suspension and this could be really expensive. If the rust is not a big deal and the engine in good condition, it`s worth a try to get it back on the road. But the interior is also a challenge. I´m hyped for the next episodes. Good luck and greetings from Germany 😉
@12pagani Жыл бұрын
Agreed and part of me wishes it was a w140 s600 but the 220 does have more features and parts are actually available for them. The abc is scary but you can rebuild a lot of the components at home and save a ton. The biggest expenses would be the ignition coil packs and abc pump if needed. Otherwise a lot of potential in that 600

Few tips for you trading cars. 1) scrap yards are very helpful places. 2) don’t buy Vauxhalls. Nobody buys them (plus they are crap) 3) smaller cars with smaller engines usually sell better seeing as they are cheaper for tax and insurance. Also more appealing for young drivers. 4) people carriers sell pretty well. No estates and saloons. They are usually more of a struggle. Thought I’d just share some of the info I know here but I’m sure Taylor knows what he’s doing. 🎉

Oil in the wiring harness is not a massive issue. That’s happened to many other manufacturers over the years (BMW, Perkins, etc). Oil is an insulator don’t forget. Replacing the faulty sensor and just washing the harness connectors with isopropyl alcohol is all you need. Oil in the module is also not bad unless there are temp sensors or air pressure sensors inside - that’s where things go wrong. I’d love that Merc to be honest!!

@unavailable8681 Жыл бұрын
Man, I really like those daimlers! Also, you might not need to replace the wiring loom! On the w211 you replace a short part of the loom, with an additional inline plug that's leak proof. This stops the leak going any further. Cleaning out the ecu's usually gets them working again, and although the residue oil seeps out through use over the next year or so, you can just clean it off when it throws a code until it's all gone. So you might have to drive a v12 for a year before you sell it.

If you have something like the van, where the battery is really really low don't connect jumpers to it. It has a big voltage drop / draws power from your jumpers that can't be used to start the engine. This is probably why you needed so many jumpers. You're often better off disconnecting the battery and trying it with just the jumpers or another car/battery, because then you've got the whole power for the engine and not a majority for charging the death battery.
