They said that they've accumulated all this "stuff" over 70 years AND all their kids left a lot behind too. This is the same kind of stuff I find in the thrift stores all around this area. And it sells! This guy has a resale shop. I imagine it all sells sooner or later. And being that he is a resale shop, he has to get product from somewhere. The resale stores around here buy a lot of garage sale leftovers, I don't figure they get nearly as many saleable items as he does buying pallet loads from Amazon. If Amazon couldn't sell this stuff it would all end up in a landfill somewhere. We have a shop here that sells nothing but upscale fashions and wedding gowns. Either purchased gently used fashions or items on consignment. They just recently moved to a storefront that quadruples their floor space because they were having to turn away so much quality stuff. I'm talking about $1,000+ designer items. And they buy a lot of clean, undamaged prom dresses. They always make sure to have a rack of less-expensive dresses set aside for the girls that can't afford a regular prom dress. It is a closed section only for those girls. You know, the ones that could never even dream of affording a $200-$500 dress. But thinks to these women they can, at prices less than 20 cents on the dollar. These ladies are minting money and performing a public service.at the same time. I think the ladies here can understand this completely even if the rock-headed missing links can't. There is a small chain of stores in the wider state area that buy store closeouts, salvage lots and the like. They take it to their warehouse, break it down into store lots and send it out to their 12-14 stores to sell. They track which stores are selling what and shift merchandise to the stores that can sell it best. They've been doing this since 1967 and are doing quite well. This is the kind of market that this dude is aiming for. I imagine he does quite well. Wish he had an online store!

Karen - Thanks for your comments - I shop in second-hand stores all the time as do many of my friends - It is no that we are poor or destitute, we just believe in recycling - The prom dress situation is wonderful - We have done it for underprivileged girls and it makes everyone happy - It is fun to find the shoes and purse to match the dress which allows the girls to feel good about themselves - You are right about the missing links, but I think they are probably young and cocky
